"You gotta admit, the fact that he likes drawing makes him even hotter," Jasmine mused as she sipped her pumpkin juice.
"Maybe, maybe not," Aurora replied, not letting her guard down. "The problem is, he started making fun of me for my cloudgazing habits."
"Really? What'd he say?" Jasmine furrowed her eyebrows.
"He said that clouds are boring, which was extremely offensive for me," Aurora said with a pout. "So then I told him that drawing is boring, but he didn't really seem to care, which pissed me off even more!"
"He probably didn't mean it, you know. He likes to joke around and shit, right?" Jasmine was now scooping salmon into her mouth.
"Yeah, its whatever," Aurora said, starting to eat her plate of salmon as well. "Don't we have a free period after this?"
"Yeah, what do you wanna do?" Jasmine asked.
"Lets just go back to the dorm, I guess. I'm pretty tired." Aurora yawned for effect.
"I'm down," Jasmine agreed.

Aurora flopped onto her bed, breathing quite heavily from the effort required to climb the stairs of Gryffindor Tower. Then, she sat up and emptied the contents of her backpack. "First day of classes and I've already got homework to do," she sighed. As she dug through the pile of books to find her divination assignment, she noticed a tiny slip of parchment had fallen out of her bag as well. It said, I was only joking about clouds being boring. well, maybe they are a bit boring. wanna meet me by the lake tomorrow so you can prove me wrong? 4:00. don't be late. if you don't want to come, just waltz over to the Slytherin table tomorrow at breakfast and announce your rejection. Beware, though, you might get mobbed with snakes,
Aurora chuckled at Blaise's silly note. A spark of interest lit in her chest, and she wondered why Blaise had gone to the trouble of sneaking a note into her bag. She was intrigued, but skeptical. Very skeptical.
What's the worst that could happen though? She thought to herself. I'll just go, see what he wants, and then go about the rest of my daily life. No problem.
With a loose plan formulated in her head, Aurora was sure that she would be meeting Blaise on the lawns tomorrow. With that, she began her divination work, scribbling notes about how she had seen Blaise's pencil and sketchpad in the crystal ball.
"Oh, by the way," Jasmine spoke, snapping Aurora out of her trance, "I heard that Katie Bell has got a thing for Blaise."
"Oh really?" Aurora said, a little awkwardly. She and Katie were both highly invested in quidditch, but they were more of acquaintances than friends.
"Yeah, apparently she's liked him for like, two years or something."
"Damn, thats intense. Does he know about it?" Aurora questioned.
"Yeah, he found out at the end of last year, but nothing really happened."
"That's awkward," Aurora admitted. She realized that if she got too close with Blaise, things could go haywire between her and Katie, especially on the quidditch pitch, and that was the last thing the Gryffindors needed that season. That is, assuming Aurora actually qualified for the team this year.
Aurora bit her lip, switching to her charms essay and trying her best to focus on that. Shortly after she began brainstorming, she realized that she remembered absolutely nothing from class that morning.
Goddamn Blaise.
