The Reality Show of Romance

Chapter One, First Contact

Mia walked into McDonald's with sweaty palms. She had seen the man's face in here before, that fake, white face that caught her eye around a week ago. She got on the line and waited for what seemed like hours to get just one bottle of water. She sat down at the table that faced the kids playground area and waited for the children to disperse.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him. His short, red hair gleamed in the artificial light of the restaurant, and his yellow tracksuit fit tightly around his round ass. 

Ronald McDonald. Everything about him was perfect. Mia didn't know if she should go and say something to him. What if Ronald was not what she thought he would be like. Mia had never talked to clowns before. He looked her way with a loving gaze, a gaze that could only be meant for her. She smiled and quickly looked away. How could it ever be possible for someone like herself to love someone as perfect as that amazing clown. 

Mia took a deep breath. She was ready to confront her biggest fear, making the first move with Ronald.

Kids came running out of the play area, right next to where Mia was sitting. She waited until all of the kids left the restaurant until she got up. She opened the glass doors and there he was, Ronald. He smiled and waved at her. Mia walked towards him with a shake in her step. Ronald stuck out his white-gloved hand and said, "Hi, welcome to McDonald's!" Mia took his hand and shook it. "H-hi, Ronald right?"

"Yes, and what might your name be?"

"It's Mia."

"Nice to meet you Mia." He smirked. That painted smile on his face made Mia blush. Ronald looked at the clock. "I'm sorry but I gotta leave, my shift is about up. I will be here the same time tomorrow, I promise. 

And then he left without saying another word. Mia was left there to comprehend what just happened. I guess the only thing to do was to come back tomorrow and see what would happen next. She left the restaurant with a smile on her face.
