"Okay, are you ready? Let's go on three."
"Yes yes, I'm ready."
"Alright, I'll start counting down then. 1.. 2-"
"Wait! I can't."
"Jungkook this is the fourth time!"
The younger one sighed while hitting his forehead repeatedly with the palm of his hand. You can do it. Just do it. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes. His friend was probably very annoyed with him at this point.
"You know, we don't have to do it today. If you're not ready we ca-"
"No, Tae. I want to do this." Jungkook quickly responded. He sat up straight and took another deep breath to calm down.
He let his soft fingers glide across the keyboard of his laptop and then slowly moved them down to the touchpad. He narrowed his eyes and carefully brought the arrow to the camera sign. It was time and he was going to do it.
"Okay Tae, you can count down now."
The older one hummed and then inhaled some air, probably feeling nervous as well.
"1"
Fuck.
"2"
Holy fuck.
"3"
He shut his eyes and pressed down his finger on the right side of the touchpad, turning on the front camera and allowing his friend to finally see him. His heart stopped and he could barely breathe, this was one of the most exciting and scary things he had ever done.
He was too afraid to meet Taehyung's eyes through the screen so he kept his own closed. He had no idea what the older one's reaction was to seeing him for the first time. They both were silent.
After a few seconds he could hear Taehyung let out a soft chuckle. "Kook."
Jungkook felt relaxed upon hearing his voice, and slowly opened his own eyes, meeting Taehyung's warm gaze immediately. He was shocked to see that the older one had light hair and tan skin. He had pictured him differently.
Tae's ash blonde hair looked fluffy and soft, almost covering his brown eyebrows. His eyes were dark, with a glint of excitement that seemed to reflect the corners of his mouth, which were arching up a bit. He had a cute birthmark on his nose, and perfect red lips that Jungkook took a few extra seconds to observe.
His heartbeat started speeding up as he realised that it was actually Taehyung. The Taehyung he had been talking to for months, laughing with, falling asleep on the phone with and getting unexplainable butterflies because of. He was right there in front of him, and even though it was through a screen, it was just as exciting.
