prologue + intro

lost.

I've been lost for so long.

It's what I'm used to, kinda like a person who gets used to being beat, I suppose. It's not that I like it, quite the opposite. Being lost sucks. There's nothing more lonely, nothing that brings more desolation to the soul. I'll never stop looking, never let that small spark of hope become extinguished. You're out there somewhere, I know you are. Someone as important as you doesn't just disappear.

So, where are you?

The world looks almost fake sometimes. Like the mountains and sky in the distance are a backdrop for a set. A green screen. I hate the places my mind can take me. The places that scream everything is plastic and nothing is real.

Won't you just me pull me out of this misery?

It's like a void.

A dark void.

A never-ending dark void that consumes everything, so your left feeling nothing. Empty. Nothing to subside your hollow soul that creeps in the shadows, away from any other human life because it's emptiness is so consuming it cannot bare to pretend that everything is okay. Nothing is okay!

People walk around this earth each day and pretend that everything is okay, and it always will be. Why can't we all just admit that we are just hollow plastic dolls with a painted happy face revealing no guilt, sadness, emptiness - emotion.

"Can I just end this?"

And just before I reconsidered my reckless decision, your silhouette appears in front of me as you reach your hands towards me.

I take a good look at your figure seeing your deep scar marks - seeing that, I smile emotionlessly.

Instead of pulling me out of the darkness, you led me to it despite knowing what I've done to you.

You never broke your promise.

But I did.

Yet you still want to save me?

"Because I'm your knight... I promise..." You breathe heavily as you approach me in a shaky manner with a body full of injuries and possibly pain. However, despite that, you smiled - no, you grinned at me and pull me into a tight embrace. With a voice soft with affection, you whisper gently to me,

"I'll help you no matter what."
