"I don't understand why they do this to us!" I yell into the phone.
"I know right?" Says my friend, Hazel.
"I mean, it's like they want our lives to end. I'm sure that's their point anyway." I sigh, laying on my bed and staring at the ceiling.
"What if one of us is chosen?" I say, covering my face with my hand.
"Then we'll compete. They're just vampires, right? What could go wrong?" She says sarcastically.
"A lot can go wrong, Hazel. They aren't just vampire. They are VAM-PIRES! V-A-M-P-I-R-E-S. I spell out the word.
"Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying! This town is evil! And there's no way out of it, either! They've got security all around us!" I hear her sigh too.
"What're we going to do?" I say, sitting up on my bed and staring at the carpet.
"I don't know, Dallas. I don't know." She says.
