Chapter Fifteen

Steve and Natasha retook their positions on either side of Regina as a low creaking sound filled the air. The aliens had landed their ships on the other side of the force field and as Regina squinted her eyes against the sun, she noticed that they were now opening. The blue alien across from her dropped her arm with a heavy grunt just as the grassy land of Wakanda was disrupted by thundering footsteps.

"What the hell." Bucky mumbled as hundreds of alien hounds started running towards the force field, snarling and jumping over each other as they charged towards the impressive line of Wakanda warriors. Their path was blocked by the blue barrier of protection but the hounds didn't seem to care as they killed themselves trying to get through. Alien limbs scattered the grass in front of the force field, making Regina's stomach grimace at the sight.

A few of the aliens, called Outriders, managed to squeeze through the barrier fully intact. Regina's face drained of blood as her heartrate increased, threatening to jump right out of her chest as the aliens started running freely across the grass. The warriors raised their shields to form another layer of protection while the Kingsman behind them held up spears that were aimed at the Outriders. Bucky hoisted up a machine gun and on King T'Challa's command, everyone with a weapon started firing at the incoming aliens. Flashes of blue light from the spears shot across the field as they came in contact with the aliens, killing a few. Sam flew overhead in his falcon suit, firing redwings at the aliens as he stayed far away enough to not get attacked. Rhodey worked with him to eliminate the Outriders as he started dropping bombs right on the perimeter of the force field, killing the aliens as soon as they crossed.

"Cap, if these things circle the perimeter and get in behind us there's nothing between them and vision." Bruce's voice was muffled as he spoke from inside a large red and grey metal suit.

"Then we better keep them in front of us." Steve replied with a low tone to his voice as he tried to remain calm. Regina looked up at him with furrowed eyebrows, needing clarification on the plan that seemed to be brewing in his head.

"How do we do that?" Okoye asked from beside King T'Challa, reflecting the same confused expression as Regina.

"We open the barrier." He replied before putting his hand up to his mouth to communicate with whoever was controlling the force field. Regina stared out at the field as Sam and Rhodey struggled to keep the Outriders at bay, as more started making their way around the perimeter. She tightened her hands into fists and stood up taller as she prepared herself for the fight that was about to occur. Once the barrier was open, there was no going back. Steve raised his arm and with a click of metal, the vibranium shield that was strapped to him grew bigger.

Every one of Regina's senses stood on edge as King T'Challa shouted a command and the warriors removed the barrier in front of them. The man stepped ahead of all of his warriors and Kingsman, never taking his eyes off of the enemies that tarnished his land.

"Wakanda forever!" King T'Challa shouted before crossing his arms over his chest in a Wakanda salute, his black suit transforming into the Black Panther. Regina didn't hesitate to start running as everyone around her did, breathing heavily as she tried to keep up with Steve. A beam of blue light cascaded down the force field before it opened and aliens started pouring out onto the field. Snarls and shouting mingled in the air as the opposing forces ran at each other, ready to fight for the death. Regina urged her long legs to move faster as Steve started gaining a larger stride than her, sprinting ahead into the mass of warriors.

"Stay back, he's a super soldier!" Natasha yelled as she caught up with Regina. The brunette woman had no chance of keeping up with Steve as he was now ahead of all the warriors, running at King T'Challa's side. The two men leaped themselves into the air and collided with the alien hounds as they reached the Earth again, Steve slamming his shield into the face of two of them. Humans met the aliens with spears and fists, trying to not get any limbs bit off by the aliens they faced.
