Next day at the lake

Yukiko's POV

I was nervous. I don't know why but it feels like today is important. I bought some dangos and head to the lake. Like always Itachi was already there waiting for me. I sat down next to him. I could feel his warmth radiating off of him and on to me. I suppress a blush trying to get on my face.

"So . . . What did you want to talk about Itachi?" I ask nervously. Itachi hasn't said anything or looked at me. He just stared at the peaceful lake infront of us.

Finally after what felt like a thousand years Itachi spoke."I wanted to ask you something Yukiko. Answer honestly please."

Itachi's POV

I am so nervous. Yesterday I talked to my day about my engagement with Yui.

I knocked on his door.

"Father I need to speak with you about something."

"Alright, come in Itachi," Fugaku answers without looking up from his paper work. "What did you need."

"It's about my engagement to Yui Uchiha. I want to call it off. Yui and I are a bad match. She's not even a ninja. It would be bad if I married a non-ninja. Others might think me or my family weak and attack us."

Fugaku stopped working and stared at me. His eyes narrowed. "Itachi you will marry Yui and I will not change my mind. It's what's best for the clan."

Then he went back to his paper work. "If that's all you came to talk about then leave. Instead of talking about this you should be getting stronger and going on missions."

I didn't move from my spot. I will break off this engagement with or without my father's permission.

"Are you deaf son? I told you to leave.?

"No."

"What?"

"No I won't marry Yui. I don't love her. I love someone else. Even if she's not an Uchiha I love her and I will marry her." Then I stormed out of his office.

I heard him call my name but I didn't turn back. I love Yukiko and she is the only person I want to marry.

Then I went to Yui's house.

*knock knock knock*

"Coming," I heard Yui say while rushing to the door.

She blushes when she sees me. All girls blushed when they saw me back in the academy all but Yuki. She would scoff and say,"What's so good about that Uchiha. It's just black hair and eyes. Nothing special."

"Itachi-san it's such a surprise to see you here." She exclaims which forces me back to reality.

I put on my best fake smile, "Yes hello Yui. I came here to tell you I'm breaking off our engagement. You are free to marry whoever you like."

I held back a smirk after seeing her creast fallen face.

"B-but I'm fine with marring you. Fugaku-san said it was what's best for the clan."

'The clan the clan. Can't they say something else for once. Of course she used the clan as an excuse to get me. That's so typical of her. She'll do anything or say anything to stay with me.'

"Yes don't worry I talked with my father before coming here. I don't need my father controlling my life. I love someone else. I want to cherish her and make her the happiest person in the world so I will only marry her. I'm sorry I can't marry you Yui."

Then she broke down into sobs. "It's that girl you're always with isn't it," she asks in between sobs.

Now I got mad. It's not that girl. She should at least remember Yuki's name.

"Yes and her name is Yukiko not that girl." Then I turned around and headed for the forest. It's about time to meet Yukiko.
