Thats all that could be heard throughout the pack house as I ran down the stairs, excited to start my day.
Today is my birthday and maybe, with any luck, I'll find my mate.
'He's close! Mate! Mate!' My wolf barked at me.
'Shush Val. You are wrong. There is no way our mate could be here.'
I thought back to all of the times every male wolf in our pack had taken advantage of us or had just been mean.
I whimpered at the thought of our mate being one of those men.
Shaking my head, I cleared my mind and stumbled out the door. I was desperate to find him, to make sure he wouldn't harm us.
I broke out in a sprint towards my school.

When the building came into view, i slower down and tried to calm my breathing.
'Mate! Mate!', Val seemed to scream through our link.
I sighed and let her sense of smell come through to help us locate him.
I quickly caught on to a woodsy, masculine scent that had Val purring with excitement.
'I told you so! Let's go find him!' She purred.
Smiling, I let her lead me towards our other half.
