Captures his hand. He stops. Her heart beats fast. “What about your question awhile ago?”
Looks at her hand over his. Looks up. Smiles. “I know you’re not ready yet to answer that. As I promised you, I will wait.” Turns back and started walking but stops his tracks. Turns back. “What is it?” Curiosity all over his face. Her hand tightly holding his hand.
“Won’t you ask me again?”
“Soon.”
“Soon is now.”
Speechless.
“I’ll say that again. Soon is now.”
Eyes blinking. “What do you mean?”

Smiles. Cups her face. Stares into her eyes. “Will you be my girlfriend?”
Smiles. From ear to ear. Slowly, she answered, “YES.”
