Bailey- As I sat down on the leather couch I grabbed the remote, turned on the TV, and put on Martha Speaks: a little kid show about a dog that talks. Yes, I know I'm in 7th grade, but IT'S MY FAVORITE SHOW SO GET OVER IT!!!

"Crap," I mutter as it changes to a commercial. Stupid stupid commercials, I think out loud. Then it changed to a JCPenny's commercial.

(It's back to school time at JCPenny's) the TV exclaimed loud and proud. I didn't hear much else of that commercial, as I was holding my hands closed tightly over my ears singing "LA-LA-LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU" loudly as my voice cracked in tune. I sounded like a dying goose, but I could care less. On the other hand, the dogs did. Sam was wimpering, Julie was clawing her ears, Blue was howling, and I could faintly hear Britta scratching the heck out of the door, pleading to get out.

Once that dreaded commercial was finally over I jumped off the couch and raced to the calendar. In my ungraceful stumble run to the calendar I managed to stub my toe, ram my arm into a wall, and nearly run over a dog. I'm very clumsy if you haven't realized that yet.

When I finally got to the calander I had a sore arm and a throbbing toe. It soooo wasn't worth it. Marked in big red letters and circled a million times was the writing that stated "BACK TO SCHOOL". Just to top it all off it was 3 days away!

I plopped back onto the couch and my show was back on. "Oh well," I whisper trying to calm myself. It worked a little. I just zoned out and let my life disappear. At least for a little while.

Mitch- I sat on my bed with my earbuds in. School was starting in 3 days. New school, new start. Just like the last 3 schools. Every school seemed to hate me. It just wasn't fair. Well it was fair, but I just told myself this so that I couldn't blame it on myself. Life just wasn't fair I suppose.

I know what's wrong with me. I'm a Christian. There's nothing wrong with that to me, but other kids just don't get me or my faith. I have learned in life that if you don't fully understand something, then your first motive is to make fun of it. Story of my life.

I got tired of thinking and just let myself be plugged into my music. My Christian music. The music no one else gets. Alive by Hillsong came on. Hillsong is my favorite Christian band. I started singing to raise my spirits. "I was lost with a broken heart, You picked me up now I'm set apart, from the ash I am born again, forever safe in the safest hands, You are more than my words can say, I'll follow you for all my days, fix my eyes follow in your ways, forever free in unending grace, cause you are you are you are my freedom, we lift you higher lift your higher, your love your love your love never ending, oh oh oh, you are alive in us, nothing can take your place, you are all we need, your love has set us free, oh oh.

I kept singing till the very end and the song gave me some hope that this school would be different. After I prayed and asked God to help me at this new school.
