Katylin- My voice echoed in the auditorium. The stage lights beamed down on the group. Our voices were in chorus and we were hitting every note TOTALLY PERFECT! It was amazing to hear myself along with the others.

Mr. Cray was playing his piano that was always rented out by students who wanted to practice their songs from class. They didn't take it home of course! They just asked permission for use of it on certain hours each day. If everyone who "rented" it showed up at the same time it would be craziness.

I watched in awe out of the corner of my eye as everyone moved their lips in different motions, following no ones lead. We just worked well together! Very well! I could tell this year we were going to be an awesome group.

"5-1-5-0 somebody call the popo I'm going crazyyyyyy, thinking bout you babyyyyyy." Yes, we did have a very weird taste in song. And yes, we all love that song. And no, the teacher doesn't like it so much. And no, I have no idea how Mr. Cray is playing this on the piano.

Once the song was over Mr. Cray smiled his perfect (almost grossing) smile. He had perfectly white, perfectly straight, perfectly placed teeth. They were defiantly fake. Well at least that's what everyone said. Rumor has it i suppose.

HA!!! Rumor has it just reminded me of another song. I start humming and some of the girls caught on so the started dancing a little and the guys just stared at us like we were idiots. Well they were right about one thing: we are idiots.

Mr. Cray just laughed. Once we were done he spoke up. "Well done everyone! Mitch work on your embouchure, and you'll be all set!"

I looked around and spotted a tall blonde haired boy with blue eyes. His hair was put a little to the side. The only reason I knew he was Mitch was because his face was a little red now, and it really showed against his pale skin.

"Yes Mr. Cray," I heard him mutter in a respectful way... If that's possible to mutter respectfully. It sounded like he really cared about this singing business. He was reminding me of me! And I just noticed him 30 seconds ago!!!

He looked so miserable with his red cheeks burning of embarrassment. Or maybe he was just put on the spot.

Earlier Mitch was joking around, so I'm pretty sure he's going to be the joker of this class. What do I know, maybe the whole school!

I twirled a loose strand of my braided red hair that really brought out my dark blue eyes. My brother Salmon (yes, like the fish) had the same hair, and would always tease me about looking into the mirror and seeing him instead of me.

"Hey," I said seeing Mitch alone. His face wasn't blushing or red anymore, so I expected now was a good time just talk to him.

I don't think he heard me. "Hi Mitch," I said more loudly.

"Oh hi!" He said.

"Um, did you hear me saying your name before?" I questioned.

"Haha no," he replied,"sometimes I think I'm going deaf.Oh ya, aren't you Katylin?" He questioned.

I laughed about his deaf joke. "No, I'm serious!" he exclaimed with a smirk on his flawless face. I still knew he was joking.

"Ya, that's me. I'm Katylin," I looked down at my necklace that was in the shape of an open heart.

"I think you're a great singer, Katylin," he said. Now it was my turn to blush.

"Thank you! Really, I wasn't so sure about myself today. You know, first day of school and all. Just don't wanna mess it up on the first day."

He laughed quietly. "Yeah, being the "new kid" isn't very easy either. A lot of kids don't want to sit by me or let me sit at their table. It's kinda ridiculous."

I smile. He seemed to be a nice guy. Maybe he could join our little gang at lunch. They could get to know him a little, and maybe even let him sit with us permanently.

"Uh, Mitch... would you like to sit at our table for lunch? Don't worry, you won't be the only boy. What do you say?"

Mitch seemed to hesitate for a moment, but then I saw him smile, and I knew his answer. "Ya, I'll sit with you and your friends at lunch!"

I silently did a little cheer inside. This was going to be awesome! I can't wait until the gang gets to meet him!
