The Mansion Waiting In The Woods

Jeff drags me through the woods, not bothering to stop when I trip over the trunk of a knocked over tree and twist my ankle a little. But then again, even I ignore it at the moment to take in my surroundings. From what I can see from my vantage point is the mansion from a medium distanced. The mansion! It's clouded by old, eerily black barked trees frame the sides, the leaves dipping low to brush the roof and tall windows. Jeff drags me right in through the front door as ever one looks over to us. By everyone, I mean all the Creepypasta characters! Jeff brings me into a surprisingly nice looking room with painted peach walls and comfortable furniture. "Why does Slenderman want me here, again?" I ask, feigning a look of comfort and using a dismissive tone. Jeff curls his lip at me. I guess I may have gone a little too far before mentioning his brother...

Whatever. The past is the past. "Well, he says you know 'too much' so he made Ben hack your phone and send me in after the Duolingo notification." He pulls out a wickedly sharp blade and advances, "It won't hurt as much if you don't scream." As my eyes widen with pure terror, I hear screams from the foyer, then I see a short little frame come into the living room. Soon enough I recognize the one and only Natalie Bartiromo. I smile at the thought of knowing that Natalie came to save me from being in this depth of darkness and utter despair of me thinking my life was about to end. Who knew how long I would have lasted for before they decide to take me "off the grid forever". They did say I knew too much, but what do I know too much about to think about it.... Maybe it's the fact that I take in too much information and I have been going deeper than ever before even going into the dark web where you can find any dark secret that anyone would normally try to hide? What does that mean for me? Life or Death? "Sarah? Earth to Sarah Moskowitz." I blink rapidly, still trying to wrap my mind around all this. Natalie grins in her Natalie way, the missing canine teeth still growing in showing the darkness that doesn't illuminate her teeth in the almost gone light of dusk. "Well, guess I'll have to just hurry up on this job, then." Jeff starts swinging the knife and coming even closer to me. Natalie's face remains calm, even though I am frozen with fear. I want to scream at her for keeping a serene--although fake, Natalie doesn't do serene, at least, not that I've seen-- smile on her face. "Diddo," she says, and proceeds to throw the knife at my head. It doesn't hit me. It hits the person right above me. Jeff cries out in pain, and Natalie grins a bit more viciously. "I never miss a target. Thank you, Elly Blake. Your book characters taught me how to fight," Then she smiles at me again, "I told you I had some experience back in my day. Why do you think I read so much? I knew you'd be kidnapped sooner or later." I slowly--and slyly-- pull out my old pocket knife. I had hidden it in the closet for a while, and had grabbed it before stepping out. It was just in case I needed it. Not even Natalie knew. How, I don't know. She was probably too absorbed in her Elly Blake or Kiersten White. I mean, the other night she facetimed me, ters brimming her eyes, and said, "Arcus died for Ruby! Why, Eurus, why?" I just laughed. Anyways, when I was younger I took Martial Arts classes for two years, so I learned self defense and combat stuff, also how to be stealthy in situations like these, and other moves, like how to kick someone when attacked and knock people out with a good ensemble of moves. But still, I couldn't move. I was frozen with fear. One thing was racing through my mind, "Is this how I will go? By Jeff the Killer?" It's not exactly how I want to end--actually it's not how I want to end at all especially now that Natalie's life is on the line i'm going to get her out before anything happens to her. "Stop," Natalie says from next to me. I look at her with a face of confusion. Don't act like you don't know what you're thinking. You and I both know you're gonna try to go all heroic on me because you're older and 'more mature.'" She uses a babyish voice at the words "More mature" I roll my eyes but smile. "I guess I'll just have to call Slenderman." Jeff grimaces as he digs Natalie's knife out of his arm, with is now blanketed in a layer of blood. Natalie grins again. "Then we'll be going, thanks for that lovely chat and assassination attempt session, we'll come back next week." Letting out a laugh with clear hysteria in it, Natalie grabs my arm and we both dash out of the still open front door.

Our feet pound against the wet soil, both of us running as fast as humanly possible. Me slightly laughing from this whole incident? Yup, that's right I was laughing. I felt the inner insanity inside my hiding trying to make me cave at the moment a hint of realization hit me. Natalie began to quote Wednesday Addams as we ran, her eyes staying ahead of us on the trail, making sure I don't trip on any more tree roots. In a girlish, high pitched voice, she imitates the nanny Wednesday scared off: "Hello children, I am Polly the Puppet! What shall we do today? I know, let's clean our rooms!" Then, a darker voice of Wednesday, a very deadpan one, too. This is the part where Wednesday pulls out a puppet that looks like Satan, a lot less girly and childish than the nanny's Raggedy Anne one. "Hello Polly. I will clean my room, in exchange for your immortal soul." I laugh breathlessly, trying to take my mind off of my throbbing pain coming from my ankle. "Natalie? Are we done running yet? Can we just walk for a while?" I ask, slowing down my pace. Natalie doesn't slow down. She keeps going, in fact, even faster. I have to sprint to keep up with her. Now we don't talk, to save our breath. Soon enough, we crash out of the woods, Natalie coming to a short, graceful stop, me stumbling out. How was I supposed to know the woods ended here? We are in my backyard. Surprised, I quickly remembered that I had these woods in my backyard and to make it worse that means if someone was watching us then they would know where I live and that also means that they could come and take me again and Natalie, this time! "Do you have bikes?" Natalie asks, her voice commanding and serious. I nod, gesturing to my shed. She runs in and grabs two. "They'll find us soon enough. C'mon, we're going to Nonna's." She tells me with a wicked grin. I stopped and stared at Natalie "But what about all my stuff?"

"They'll leave you alone soon enough. Come on already!" She hopped on a bike and pedalled off.
