"Vernon~ have you seen Chen's blanket?" Kit asked while holding a 2 month old baby boy. Kit gave birth to his, and his boyfriend-Vernon's, child 2 months ago. Kit's been the perfect dad, he refuses to be called mom, Vernon's been a great father as well...

"Vernon? Babe?" Kit walked around his home, his mother and father were in the kitchen, younger sister in the living room, older brothers in their room... But no boyfriend.

"Mama, have you seen Vernon? I can't find Chen's blanket, I thought he would know where it is," Kit asked his mother who shook her head.

"I thought he was you you sweety," She said and Kit shook his head.

"He might be in the backyard! I heard him walk out there when his phone rang," Pring, Kit's sister, yelled over to her older brother. Kit nodded and set Chen down, with his sister, then walked out to find Vernon.

They've been dating for 2 years. Kit is older than Vernon by a year but the two didn't mind. Vernon is a foreign-exchange student from South Korea. He leaves next year, it'll be hard on Kit and Chen but Vernon promised to come back every summer and Skype™ as often as possible.

Kit found Vernon sitting on the swing, its Kit's little sister's but Vernon and Kit go on it too, talking on the phone. Kit sat on the swing next to him and grabbed his hand, holding it, while Vernon spoke in English to his mother.

"Yeah, I'll be home soon mom, I miss you too, I gotta go. I love you too. By mom," Vernon hung up a few minutes later and looked over at Kit.

"Mom?" Kit asked in Korean, Vernon never leanred Thai so they use Korean to communicate.

"Yeah. She's misses me a lot," Vernon said. He's extremely homesick, but being with Kit, Chen, and Kit's family makes Vernon feel a bit at home here.

"Besides Sophia, you're her only kid, of course she misses you," Kit said and held Vernon's hand tighter.

"Chen asleep?" Vernon asked a couple minutes later.

"No, I couldn't find his blanket, I was hoping you knew where it was," Kit said. Vernon shook his head not knowing either.

The couple sat out there for a few more minutes before Vernon's phone rang again.

"Yeah, I leave tonight, see you then...bye," Vernon hung up again and didn't tell Kit who that was.

"Who was it?" Kit is naturally curious, so he asked.

"No one important baby," Vernon lied. But what Kit doesn't know won't hurt him.

- the next morning - 7:21 AM -

Kit woke up a lot earlier than usual. He normally wakes up at 9 AM, spends two hours with Vernon and Chen, then gets ready for the day. Normally Kit wakes up in Vernon's arms, but he didn't today. Vernon wasn't even in the room. Chen was still asleep in his crib, but Vernon was no where to be seen.

"Babe! You in the bathroom?" Kit yelled from their bed. No answer. But the more Kit looked around. The more he noticed Vernon's things missing.

His laptop, phone, and cords - gone.
His stacks of movies and video games - gone.
Pictures of his family - gone
Chen's teddy bear (that Vernon bought) - gone

Anything and everything that was Vernon's, is now GONE. And so is he. Kit was just confused, sad, angry, disappointed... but mainly sad that Vernon didn't tell him he was leaving earlier than planned.
Chen woke up, Kit just sighed and picked up his baby before he started crying - before they both started crying.

"You look so much like him... How am I going to get over him?" Kit (rhetorically) asked Chen. Chen saw tears coming out from Kit's eyes so he balled up his blanket and hit Kit in the face with it - thinking that's how you're supposed to do it.

Kit just laughed and hugged Chen tightly.

"Don't leave me like he did... Please... I don't want to be alone..."
