The Mute Mandrake

Alive it Shall Be

The alchemist trudged through the streets of the city to make it to his studies. He went straight to the castle, and didn't bother to talk to anyone on the way there. He passed everyone that tried to start a conversation with. He had enraged some people on his way, but he didn't care, all that mattered is that he stayed out of the dungeon. The mandrake had gained potential while they walked, it began to speak.

"Why am I hanging sideways?" The mandrake asked. The alchemist immediately dropped the mandrake due to fear.

"You can talk?" The alchemist said in fear.

"Yes I can mortal I am not a normal mandrake I am a mandragora," The mandrake stated, and I would like it if you put me down I can walk." The alchemist put the mandrake down and allowed it to walk.

"I have one questioned for you dragora, do you have the shriek of a mandrake?" The alchemist asked.

"Of course I do what kind of mandragora would I be without a mandrake voice." The mandrake prepared to shreik, but was interrupted by the alchemist.

"Not here wait until we get to my lab." The alchemist said.

"Ok." The drake replied.

"I have a question though drake what is your name?"

"It is Dragoran what about yours mortal?"

"My name doesn't matter, and doesn't concern you." The two continued the walk to the alchemist's lab.

"Ok here we are." The alchemist said opening a door to a room full of beakers, potions, ingredients, and other alchemy tools.

"Ok let me drink a potion of deafness first, then I will hold an enchanted bottle to your mouth, and proceed with my process." The alchemist listed. He then grabbed a potion, drank its contents, and held an enchanted bottle to Dragoran's mouth.

"Ok shriek." The alchemist said. Dragoran prepared to shriek, and when he did nothing came out. He wasn't able to shriek.
