The Park

*Emilys POV*

I was greeted by the warm moist air as I walked out of my house. The clouds were slowly rolling in covering the sun. I made my way down my driveway and out of the cul-de-sac and to the park. Earlier today I got a text from Josh saying to meet him at the park around 3:00. Its 2:45 now. I put my headphones in and crossed the street. (dangerous I know) cut  across a deserted parking lot, a little shortcut I found, and walked down the trail to the park. Once I got there I spotted Josh on the swing, playing on his phone. I walked around and up behind him. I took off his beanie and he jumped and turned around. Once he realized it was me his face softened.

"Hey emyboo!"

I giggled at his stupid nickname and pulled him into a bear hug.

"Hi Joshiepoo!"

He laughed and sat back on the swing slowly swaying back and forth. I sat next to him, slowly swaying my legs.

"What did ya wanna talk about?" I asked, curious to hear his answer.

"Nothing just wanted to see ya. Is that okay with you?"

"I guess. Why didn't you just come to my house?"

"I wanted to swing."

He looked at me as if the answer was right in my face. Why is he acting so weird? Usually he just comes to my house then we walk to the park together.

"Josh are you sure you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine. Are you okay?"

"Yea I'm fine."

I looked down at his beanie.

"Here, you want that back?"

He looked up and shook his head.

"Looks better on you."

I blushed and put is on. Not to be weird but it smelled good! It smelled like his shampoo and Axe. I kicked my legs more, moving the swing. I looked at the sky again, the clouds were getting darker.

"You scared of the rain?"

I looked over to see Josh smirking.

"No."

"Sure. You wanna go walk?"

I nodded and got off the swing and waited for him to follow. He got up and walked next to me and we headed for the trails. This felt so awkward. Josh seemed.....different. He was kinda quiet.
