"The dress is super cute honey, don't worry" I reassured my best friend Jamie. We had to come to the mall quickly since she had just been asked on a date by a friend of her coworker, who has apparently been flirting with her for a few weeks now, named Juho. She was a bit nervous about being out alone with a guy so her coworker offered to tag along if she could bring a friend so i'm going as well...
"It seems more cutesy and he's more like... I don't know edgy and... swag.." she said as she kept twisting to make her dress twirl around her. "Did I tell you hes a rapper???"
"You may have mentioned it." I said sarcastically. "Look just bc he's edgy and 'swag' doesn't mean you can't be cutesy. Plus, I know you love this dress."
"Yeah you're right... Okay I'll get it!" she said practically hopping back to the fitting room. She came out, we paid for our clothes and then we were on our way back to the apartment we shared.
"So who is this coworker I'll be accompanying?"
"Oh yea that is something you should know. Ok so he's our age, his name is Taeyang, um, He's really talented, he plays the guitar and sings... He's super chill and really thoughtful"
"So he's ugly..."
"No!! He's actually really cute, if i'm being honest!"
"So why didn't you date him?"
"He's like my brother... Plus Juho has been around since I started working a few months back and I always thought he was cute... He only started flirting with me recently because I accidentally confessed my crush to him when I was trying to finally tell Taeyang and Juho just so happened to be standing right behind me..."
"Nice one" I said laughing out loud. That is definitely something she would do. "I guess your coworker doesn't sound terrible."
"He's not! You'll love him, I promise!"
~the next day~ (date night)
Jamie had woken up earlier to get her hair done then woke me up when she got back.
"Wakey wakey!" She yelled as she danced to the NCT song.
"Wow you are too excited" I said sitting up.
"I'm not tho! I'm super nervous but I really like this song!" She said as she continued to dance around my room.
"Girl, if you don't sit down before your hair sweat out"
"Ooh you're right..." She said as she slowly sat down right where she stood. "So which outfit are you wearing?"
"The yellow shirt and the light blue jeans" I said.
"Cuteee... You don't seen very excited" She pouted.
"Well it isn't my date, but I am excited for you."
"Who knows! Maybe you'll end up liking Taeyang!"
"Yeah maybe" I said sarcastically. He sounded nice or whatever and I know I don't know him but something about him is giving me a bad feeling... I can't pinpoint exactly why tho..
"C'mon get ready! We're gonna go meet them at the park down the street!" She said hopping up and running out of my room to put on her clothes I'm assuming. I went to brush my teeth and wash my face still trying to think about why this guy I've never met is making me feel so suspicious. By the time I moved on to doing my hair, I had concluded that I was just overthinking things so I moved the thoughts to the back of my head and ignored them.
We had been walking around the park for a few minutes before we stopped and Jamie began looking around.
"Hm, let me text them really quick" She grabbing her phone from her small circle cork printed shoulder bag. As I looked around at our surroundings, I suddenly spotted someone who caught my eye past the high bushes in the middle of the park that divided the two pathways. At first, I thought I knew the person but couldn't remember where from but then it hit me like a truck causing me to gasp.
