Surprise My Uncle Is Batman

Chapter 16

3rd Person POV

The rest of the week had gone by slow. Percy had only seen Josh at school, but they were quick glimpses in the hallway. The big talk of Percy being claimed by the KOK had died down. Things were actually starting to fall into place and seem normal. Life in Bruce's house were calm and on schedule.  Until Nathan called and wanted to know if Percy to go hang out and mess around in town on Friday night. 

Percy POV

Nathan texted me on Thursday asking if I wanted to go find something to do in Gotham Friday night.  I texted back saying sure because I really had no plans that night, and knowing Bruce wouldn't care. Once Friday rolled around Nathan and I had both decided that we were to meet at the little whole in the wall coffee shop at six, that we had been to before, then we would see what movies are playing or bands playing live. A pretty relaxing Friday evening and I was looking forward to it. 

At five-thirty I hoped on my motorcycle and headed into Gotham. In about fifteen minutes I had arrived at the coffee shop. I walked in and noticed Nathan wasn't any where. In fact the whole shop was empty. Weird. I walked up the counter and ordered my drink and watched the girl very nervously and shakily make my coffee. I grabbed my drink from her once she was done, and sat down at a table. I sitting there for probably ten minutes thinking Nathan stood me up when I heard the door of the coffee shop open. I turned expecting to see Nathan to being entering to shop, but instead I saw three teenagers. And one of them was Josh. "Fancy seeing you here." He called out to me. I didn't say anything back, but just watched him and his two friends walk over to the table I was sitting at. Once he sat down I got a better look and him and his friends. The other two teenagers were the two boys that were always with him. The short one with the tattoo, and the medium sized one with the highlights in his hair. I began to study Josh more and noticed he had a fairly deep scar running down the right side of his face. "How did you get that scar?" Josh lifted up a his hand and touched the mark. Are you checking my face out?" Josh asked with a cocky look on his face. I could feel my face heat up.  "I'll tell you how I got mine when you tell me how come you have that brand on your four arm?" Josh asked leaning his head on his hand. Shoot! I knew eventually I would start to be asked about it, but I don't know when he saw it. I was cut out of my thoughts when I heard Josh chuckling. "Oh doll I saw it when we pierced your ears. You didn't think we just pierced your ears right?" He began laughing again then looked straight into me eyes."I had to make sure you wouldn't get hot considering you had all those layers on that night. So I took off your jacket, but that's it. I thought we'd save the rest for later when you were awake." He said giving me a wink. I knew my my neck, ears, and whole face turned a red color when all three boys snickered at me. Once Josh stopped laughing he turned serious again. "But seriously angel eyes I'm quite curious about that brand." 

" It's a family tradition to get one when you turn seventeen." I told them looking bored, but the short kid with the tattoo didn't seem satisfied with my answer. He kept glaring at me like he wanted to say something, but knew he shouldn't. 

"How come there is a trident on it? Does everybody in your family get that symbol?" Josh asked actually looking interested.  

"No. I got it because I like the ocean and being around water." I told him. Josh looked ready to ask another question when the short kid interrupted him, "If everybody in your family gets one how come Your uncle don't have one or some of the kids that hang around his house?" He asked looking proud of his question like it would stump me or cause me to lie. 

But I smoothly replied, "He's on my mom's side of the family. This," I pointed to my  four arm." This is my dad's side of the family." 

"How come you came to live with Bruce instead of your dad or your mom?" The short one kept pushing, and it was beginning to make me mad. 

"My dad died at sea when I was really young. Leaving it as just me and my mom." I lied smoothly again, but that made the short kid mad. I don't know if it was because I skipped over why I wasn't living with my mom or that his  His face turned all red when he couldn't falter me. He was about to ask another question when Josh cut him off. "I think that is enough questions Tony." Giving the short kid, who's name was apparently Tony, a look that told him to back off. It was a look that made me move around in my seat a little. It was a hot face. " Axle why don't you and Tony go order some food then take a walk around make sure nobody is messing around on the docs." Josh ordered Tony and Axle. 

"Yes sir." Axle answered back with a deep voice grabbing the back of Tony'd hoodie and pulling him to the counter. Once the two boys were out the door Josh took a twenty out of his wallet and handed it to me. "Why don't you go up and order us something hot to drink then the two of us can take a walk outside by ourselves without those two fools. How does that sound?" I only nodded. Good. I will meet you by the door." Josh told me then walked his way slowly over to the front door of the coffee shop. I turned and headed up to the counter and ordered two black coffees. Once I got them I walked over and gave one to Josh. Neither of us said a word as we walked out of the coffee shop and onto the street. We walked down the street in complete silence. Neither one of us saying a word. "So...uhh...what's your favorite color?" I asked lamely, the long silence finally getting to me. 

"A beautiful sea green." He said turning to me making my cheeks turn a tad bit red. "Yours?" 

I looked into his dark chestnut eyes thinking hard to myself, but I had to stay true to myself. "Blue.  What's your favorite song?" 

"Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. Yours?" 

"Under the Sea from The little Mermaid." I said confidently, but still felt a embarrassed when I heard a light chuckle from Josh. "That's awesome!" He told me with a big smile making a little one appear on my face. The rest of our walk went just like that. The two of us asking each other questions and then answering them. We must have been walking for a while because when we got back to the little coffee shop it had closed up for the night. We walked over to my motor bike and I awkwardly stood in front of it not knowing what to do. Thankfully Josh to control before it became to awkward. "I had a wonder night getting to know you so well, and I would love to do it again." Josh said softly to me.

"Yes. I had a real great time too." A small smile appeared on my face. "See you around school?" 

"Of course Percy." He said smiling and leaning towards my face. Before I could do anything he placed his lips on mine. Josh was kissing me. He pulled away from my lips with a smile on his face. "Good night Percy." He told me softly and began walking the opposite direction from me. 

"Night." I barely got out, still in shock. I was just kissed by a very handsome gang member and...I liked it!
