I got out of the car and waved bye to Heaven. I could already feel my chest getting tighter...my breathing got heavier, I pulled at my sleeves trying to calm myself down. "Hey Billyyyyy" I heard from behind me, a voice I could recognize anywhere. My best friend since kindergarten, Samuel. "Sammyyyyy!!!" I screamed as I turned around and hugged him. Sam had always made everything better for me but since school let out last year I hadn't heard from him and it made me upset. I frowned. "Hey Sammy...why haven't I heard from you?" He looks at the ground. "Oh just because  I moved over summer." He smiled. "Oh..okay!!! See you in lunch!!!" I smiled and he kissed me on the head. (A gesture that we've done since we were kids) Time for my first class ...great. Without anyone. You'd think that by 9th grade I'd know how to make it on my own but I didn't. I wandered the halls like a lost puppy before someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned around to see a girl, much taller that me, beautiful hazel curly hair and pale skin. "Umm, excuse me, sorry to bother you but you looked like you needed some help finding your class, where are you going love???" She said as she smiled a beautiful, wide grin. "U-uh, room 220, can you help me??" I said looking down at the grown nervous. "Really??? That's where I'm going too! I'm Lindsay by the way!" She said and I kinda smiled. Someone that actually seemed to be pretty nice and seemed to be interested in me. "I'm Billy." I said and she smiled. "Well Billy let's get on our way, room 220 is right down here." We giggled and joked all the way down to class. We spent the entire day together. I actually felt...happy. After school Lindsay offered to take me to hang out and take me home. I agreed, so I called Heaven and told her that I was going to hang out with my friend Lindsay. We drove around for hours it seemed like until we made it to a little spot off the road with a trail. "Lindsay, where are we??" I asked looking around confused. "My favorite spot to be." She said as she turned the key, turning off the car. She takes out a little red box out of her bag and pulls out a ciggarette. "Have you ever had one?" She asks as she lights it. "U-uhm n-no, my mom would kill me." I said as a whiff of the sweet smoke hit me in the face. "I-it smells good." I mumbled getting really nervous. She reached bad into the tiny red box and pulled out another, stretching her hand out to meet mine. "Here have one." She said with a smile. I giggled slightly as I took it from her. "I don't even know how to do this" I said nervously. "Just inhale and blow out" she said making it seem like the easiest thing ever. I took a small puff and coughed, but it felt so good. As the night got darker, Lindsay decided to drive me home and that was that. Freshman year started out weird.
