Chapter 3
Evan's guitar case lay quietly beside him. His nimble hand strumming against the strings, trying to tune it to perfection. Evan felt the need to impress the mysterious Aria. He had impressed many girls. It was true he used to be the player the bully. There was always a reason he moved and forced the band to move. This was a fresh start. He stopped strumming the strings and sighed knowing it was already tuned to perfection. He stood up stretching. This skinny jeans idea for being a bad boy was not cool. He hadn't like the idea of his back turned from his friends on the album covers. He slung the guitar onto his back and began walking to the eager fans.
As Evan walked up onto the stage, Jasper and Tristan walked over to him. Tristan holding his drumming sticks and Jasper holding his guitar. "Sparks had to cancel. This gig is to small for her reputation." Tristan growled.
"You still hooking up with Theresa?" Jasper asked. Evan shook his head. "Well call her up, I don't care if you guys aren't hooking up, that's the only girl we know that can sing." Evan's hand began searching through his leather jacket and his skinny jeans. He pulled out his phone and dialed Theresa.
Aria pulled up in her punch bug at 10:00. The first stage of letting go is Denial. Right? Or is that grieving? Aria couldn't remember which was which. So she had decided she was going to see Tristan one more time and let him go. That cheating bastard.
Fronting The Bottoms was already performing it didn't surprise her after all she did show up an hour afterward. She walked over to the bar and ordered a beer. The bartender opened it and handed it to her. She took a drink an began walking towards the stage, just to see Fronting The Bottoms premiere. She jostled her way to front row. Evan watched her closely as she stepped forward. He ended the song he was singing and whispered to a mixed man beside him.
She eyed the mixed man, he looked so familiar. The mixed man looked at her and his eyes widened. Jasper. Her brother was on stage with two men she despised. Jasper turned away from Evan and Aria and spoke to Tristan and the bassist. They both nodded and the bassist started playing tunes.
"And this song goes out to one of girls who I have not slept with yet." He winked and many of girls screeched. Tristan played a few soft notes.
"The creeps in my head have all gone to bed. They constantly tell of everything said." All the girls begin screeching. Some of the more mature girls began singing along, their phones in the air recording it. Evan closed his eyes, getting into his music, his hands closing around the mike stand.
And all of a sudden the song was over, Aria's eyes closed, was humming along. Actually humming along to one of his songs!
"Hey Theresa get out here!" Jasper said into the microphone. The crowd let out moans. A girl next to Aria let out a scream of: "Where's Maxine?!"
Evan sighed and whispered into Jasper's ear. Jasper nodded.
"Well Maxine was not able to make it tonight because," Evan looked behind him and all the other men nodded. "she decided this gig wasn't special to her." Everyone gasped. "But come on Theresa isn't that bad." Theresa walked onto stage.
"Thanks babe." She kissed him on the cheek. Aria took a gulp of beer. Evan frowned and looked at Theresa. "Well anyways," Theresa continued talking. "I'll be singing only two or three songs." She grinned and looked out over the crowd. Aria didn't like this girl's character. She seemed too bitchy.
"Now I'm about to give you my heart, but remember this one thing I've never been in love before so you gotta go easy on me." Although Aria didn't like her she was amazed by her singing. And then it was Evan's turn :
"I heard love is dangerous once you fall you never get enough, but the thought of you leaving ain't so easy for me." His high pitch was amazing. Aria took another swig of her beer and turned around. She walked and then she bumped into someone. It wasn't Evan he was still on stage. Who was this stranger?
"Sorry pretty lady." His redneck voice slurred. Drunker than Aria for sure.
"Its alright." Her eyelids began to droop. What the fuck was going on? It always took Aria a few more beers to truly get drunk.
"Pretty lady it's a shame that you don't check when the bartenders serve your beers." He grinned a wicked smile before grabbing her shoulders. Aria was taken over by darkness.
