Yes, it's another update!
I made this graphic for Round 2 of the Design-It Challenge, and the requirements were to recreate a classics cover by using only one colour other than black and white, and using two fonts, one which must be Times New Roman.
I chose Nathaniel Hawthorne's controversial classic, The Scarlet Letter, which talked about the experience of a young woman, Hester, who committed adultery and was forced to wear a scarlet "A" on her chest for the rest of her life, and how Hester's husband tried to plot against her secret lover. The story itself is not bad, but the writing style was what caused it to be controversial. I strongly suggest you read that book if you would like to understand more about life in the thirteen colonies in the 17th century, as it talks about the theme of unfairness, politics and adultery at that time.
Who knew Arlena V Hawthorne could create minimalistic covers? Certainly not Arlena from the past.
Surprisingly, this was one of the easier covers to make. There are just so many things that irked me the first time I saw the outcome, but thanks to Azanthiel and somnambular, I confirmed my final product. Thank you both so much <3 and you guys should really check out their graphics -- you won't be disappointed!
Question of the Day: What is your favourite animal and why?
Mine is the penguins -- they're fabulous looking in those tailcoats, loyal, resilient and despite their clumsiness on land, they can tap-dance very well. Just look and cower upon their beauty
