 November 1st 1981

It was nearly 2 a.m. It was dark and very cold. The rain was pouring down with such a force. The streets were empty save for a single solitary woman running down the sidewalk. She appeared to be holding a small bundle of blankets in her arms. As the woman was running she attempted to shield her bundle from the harsh rain.

The woman was very quite beautiful. she was tall with an aristocratic face with dark hair that was also very shiny that fell to her mid back. she had dark eyes with long eyelashes. She looked very fit like she moved around a lot. She wore black silk robes and a black fur cloak the shielded her from the harsh weather. Despite her beauty the one thing that broke the picture were her eyes, they were blood shot, this women had recently been crying.

As she was running she finally made her way to a large gated fence that at the top read "Wool's Orphanage". She looked up at the tall building with a look of disgust on her face. her lover had told her stories about this place, and if this was anything less than an emergency she would never bring her baby here. she opened the gate and walked up to the front door and looked at the bundle in her arms laying there was a  sleeping baby boy about a year old. He had black hair that covered most of his head. The woman looked at the baby with a deep love that only a mother can accomplish.

While she was looking at him she set him down on the front step. the boy, no longer being kept comfortable by his mothers warmth, began to stir and he woke up. his eyes were a dark brown color. The rain splashed on his small face he began to cry. The noise was the worst sound the women ever heard. She pulled out a long wooded stick out of her sleeve pointed it at the baby ad whispered under her breath

 Impervious

Immediately the baby was dry. He looked at his mother in confusion. She had tears in her eyes.

"Shh. Little one I am sorry but I must leave you here." The tears in her eyes streamed down her cheeks harder with that. "But no matter what happens to you or me always know that mummy loves you more than anything in the world. Goodbye Adrian"

She pulled an envelope out of her pocket and placed it in her baby's blanket. She stood up and banged hard on the front door and ran around a corner she stood and watched for about 3 minutes before the door opened and an elderly women with short grey hair that was tied in a bun and wrinkles lining her face, looked out confused. At first she thought that this was a prank that is until she looked down and she gasped. Very quickly she picked up the strangely enough despite the horrible rain was a completely dry baby she looked around without seeing any one so she brought the baby inside and away from the elements into the warmth.

Unseen by the old lady. Around the corner the baby's mother whispered

      "Goodbye, my son."

Before turning on her heel and disappearing with a loud Crack

Back inside the building, the matron sat the baby on a table and changed his diaper and got him into some fresh pajamas. She laid him in one of the cribs and went to read the letter that she found with her new arrival. She sat in comfortable chair in her office with a cup of tea as she opened the letter. Inside was a hand written letter that appeared to have tear marks on it.

     To whom it may concern,

Please take care of my son. Certain events have made me unable to take care of him myself. Despite this I have one request please make sure he knows that his mother loves him very much.

His name is Adrian Black. And his birthday is October 1st 1979

Sincerely,

A mother who wants the best for her child.

The matron read the letter twice before folding it up placing it back in its envelope and setting it in the top drawer of her desk. Deep in thought while she sipped on her tea.

"So his name is Adrian Black, Okay, well this has been a strange night." She sighed a got up and decided to call it a night and go to sleep.

Time Skip Next Morning

When the matron woke up she went to check on the children and wake them up for the day. When she got in the kids room she noticed 3 of the children already awake and  had noticed the new arrival. The baby was standing in his crib with his hands holding the sides and had a big smile on his face trying to take in all the new faces that were looking at him. She couldn't help the smile that came to her face, she truly loved her children and when they were happy it made her happy.

"I see you've met our new arrival." She was interrupted, as a small girl about 4 was making silly faces as the baby giggled. They turned to the matron and smiled.

"Good morning, Ms. Connors." They said together as they were trained to say this every morning.

"Ms. Connors, who is this little cutie?" The 4 year old asked with a huge grin on her face.

"This, Sarah, is Adrian. I found him on the front step last night, he's going to be our newest little brother." The newly named Ms. Connors announced to not only the girl who asked; but also to the other kids.

"Come on help me wake up the other kids and lets get some breakfast."
