(Reaper's Pov)

I lean on the kitchen counter with a warm cup of coffee in my hands, listening to the soft pitter patter of rain hitting against the window. I close my eyes and relax until a loud bang makes me jolt up, almost spitting out my coffee. I hear a little squeal come from the bedroom.

Geno was terrified of thunder and lightning. I don't blame him after being in that abyss for so long. I place my coffee cup down in the sink and walk out of the kitchen, a few floorboards creaking underneath my feet as I approach the bedroom door.

I gently push the door open and look in to see Geno's figure shaking underneath a pile of blankets he had thrown over himself to block out the noise from outside. I quietly shut the door behind me. The door clicks and I walk towards Geno.

Geno?"

I see his head slowly emerge from the blankets, his gaze meeting mine as I sit beside him.

"It's okay Gen-"

I was cut off as Geno held onto me in a hug, his arms tight around my waist. I gently stroke his skull as he continues to shake.

"It's okay, Geno. There's nothing to be affraid of."

I say calmly to reassure him. He burries his face into my chest, letting me hold him in my arms like a child. I turn my gaze towards the window, watching the raindrops race down the glass before they hit the windowsill and create a small pool.

I lay down with Geno still in my arms, careful not to alarn him. The thunder and lightning roars once again, making Geno whimper. I close the curtains as a strike of lighning peirces through the sky like a sword.

I begin humming a soft tune, looking down at Geno as he holds my hand, intertwining our fingers. I lightly trace my fingertips across Geno's skull as his body soon relaxes, humming along with me.

We enter our own little safe world lying there together, the sound of the rain fading.

Geno looks up at me, our gaze meeting for a moment. I give a small smile.

"🎵Let's go in the garden,

You'll find something waiting.

Right there where you left it,

Only upside down..🎵"

I see Geno's eyes sparkle as he smiles.

"🎵When you finally find it,

You'll see how it's faded.

The underside is lighter

When you turn it around..🎵"

We both close our eyes and sing together.

"🎵Everything stays, right where you left it

Everything stays, but it still changes.

Ever so slightly, daily and nightly,

In little ways, when everything stays.🎵"

"🎵Let's go in the garden,

You'll find something waiting.

Right there where you left it,

Only upside down.🎵"

"🎵When you finally find it,

You'll see how it's faded.

Ther underside is lighter

When you turn it around..🎵"

Geno's grip loosens around my waist. I open my eyes to see Geno smiling softly, his eyes closed. I press a kiss onto his forehead, a faint red hue appearing on his cheekbones as she rests his head on my chest. I carry out the song by humming the tune, Geno humming along with me.

He soon falls asleep peacefully in my arms as I hold him close in a slightly protective way. I push the curtain draped over the window aside slightly and peer outside. The thunder and lightning had stopped, leaving the rain to pitter patter softly on the window.

I let the curtain fall back to its original place, placing my hand around Geno.

"I love you."

I whisper softly with a smile into his ear. I soon fine myself slowly being pulled into a dream, darkness clouding my vision as my eyes fall shut.

(Geno's Pov)

I wake slowly to the sound of Reaper's calm breathing, his chest rising and falling slowly. I wrap my arms more comfortably around his waist and gaze up at him. His head was lolled to the side as his mouth was left open sligtly. I give a small smile before giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"I love you, too."

I whisper into his ear as he did to me. I relax again and allow myself to enter a world of daydreams.
