"BUY ME FLOWERS," yelled Yanan, slamming a twenty dollar bill on the table in front of Yuto, who had been sitting in the studio, working on his mixtape (he still needs to drop).

"What..." Yuto was puzzled, pulling down his headphones and pausing the track he was on. "When did you get in here... ?"

"LISTEN. I need flowers for my date, but have to catch up on 'Thumbs Up' choreography. You are the only person I trust not to steal my money."

"Ah, ok." Being the kind hearted, polite Yuto he was, he agreed. Which is how half an hour later, Yuto found himself inside the nearest flower shop, completely overwhelmed in trying to decide what to buy. He was staring down at a bundle of blue anemones, when someone from behind tapped him on the shoulder, causing him to jump. Being so tall, some wisteria hanging from above hit him in the face, momentarily blinding him, and as he reached a hand out to steady himself on the nearest shelf, he accidentally knocked over a row of tiny potted cacti.

"Aaaahhh, I'm so sorry," he said, once he realized what happened. He began to crouch down to pick up the shards.

"Don't use your hands! I'll get a broom." Yuto stood there awkwardly, waiting.

"I'm Y/n. I work here," you called, walking back from the storage closet, with a broom and pan in hand. "I was just going to ask if you needed help." You sighed, sweeping cactus remains.

"I- I'm really sorry," he said, bowing a little, but as he leaned forward, his shoulder hit another small tiny cactus off the shelf. Fortunately, he caught it last second before it hit the ground.

"I'll buy this!" He fibbed, holding up the cactus between his pointer finger and thumb. "And the broken ones."

"Alright, well, I can meet you at the register." you said, picking up the dust pan and throwing what you had sweeped into a nearby trash bin.

"Uh..." he hesitated.

"Or is there anything else you needed?"

"Yes!" he answered. "I still need flowers."

"What kind were you thinking of?"

"Uh..."

"What's the occasion?" you prompted.

"Oh, for a date." Your friendly customer service smile faltered a little. Someone like him was bound to have a date, you thought.

"Not for me, though," he quickly said. "It's for..." How was he supposed to explain that he was supposed to give them to Yanan who was supposed to give them to his date who for both he had no clue what kind of flowers they would like. He didn't even have anyone he liked...

He stuttered, "...I don't like- Flowers- Aren't for me." Humble to a fault, he didn't consider anyone to be into him and thought he was just a regular guy. "Me?... A guy? With flowers? -No."

Being the awkward Yuto he was, he failed to articulate what he was thinking clearly to you. Which was what lead you to misunderstand his words. Who was this giant destroying your shop? You thought. Was his masculinity so fragile that he couldn't like flowers?

Wanting to get rid of him, you said, "Well, you can never go wrong with roses." You shoved a small bunch of red ones into his arms and rushed to the register.

"Ah, thank you," Yuto said, following behind after processing what just happened. As you rang him up, he realized that twenty dollars would not cut it and took out his credit card. Yuto, you read his name off the card in your head. Hope we never meet again. Yuto thought the opposite as you finished his purchase and he headed outside. He wasn't leaving empty handed, but left still feeling empty inside for some reason. Thinking about flowers and dates- all this romantic stuff- made him realize how alone he actually was and how much of a loser he made himself in front of you. He wanted a second chance.

Epilogue

"YEET my flowers," Yanan said as he saw Yuto walk through the door. Yuto passed the bag to him silently sulking.

"Why's there a cactus?" asked Yanan, looking inside.

"You can have it," Yuto said. "The roses cost more than twenty dollars by the way."

"K thnx bye," Yanan said, walking away to his room. While he knew Yuto wouldn't steal his money, no one said anything about him stealing Yuto's.

Yanan entered his dorm room, waking up his roommate Changgu from his nap in the process, who tiredly looked up to see Yanan about to throw a small plant into the trash.

"Wait-" Changgu called. "You're throwing away an entire plant?"

"I'm not really gonna care for it," Yanan replied, thinking of Pentagon's busy schedule.

"I can for now," Changgu shrugged. Yanan reached up to give the plant to him. "...And I think I know who to give it to."
