(Emilee's ootd)
"Emilee wake up. I have to leave soon and I can't wake you up when I'm gone." My mom shook me up. It was kind of irritating but whatever. It is the beginning of my senior year. My parents decided to move to Staten Island for some odd reason. We lived in sunny California less than a week ago. Now we are in cloudy New York. After laying in my bed for five more minutes I decided to get up and get ready.I went down and made myself a bowl of cereal. So healthy right. My mom was standing in the dining room looking for her comfy shoes to wear when she is running all over the hospital. Not much had been unpacked yet. So it's been a hassle to find anything.
"Emilee be careful on your way to school. I'm begging you not to drive fast. We don't want another ticket to pay." My mom casually says as she walks out the door.
"Love you too mom." I roll my eyes and dump my bowl of milk into the sink. I will admit I have little problem with speed. I look at the time on the stove and shit. I have to be there early to meet with the counselor for my schedule. I quickly go up to my room grab my keys and slip on a pair of heels. I grab my backpack and I'm out the door. I get into the drivers side of my car and hammer down. I never made a promise that I would go slow. I play my jams and just sink into the music. First days of school are always exciting.
I get to the school. I've never seen so many people hang out in a parking lot before. I pull up and everyone is starring at my car. I love my baby. She is a 2018 ZL1 Camaro. I think she likes speed more than I do. I pull into a random parking spot. I rev my engine a little to keep the show going. I turn it off and hop out. I reach over to the passenger side to grab my bag. I shut the door and walk away. As I'm walking towards the school I lock it and you can hear the horn twice. I reach the building and a cute boy holds the door open for me. "Thank you." I say politely.
"Anytime." He slips in the entrance and the door shuts behind him. I make my way to the office. This school is full of people. I thought California had a lot of people. Wow was I wrong. I walk into the office and the secretary is sitting in his desk.
"Hi ma'am, how can I help you?" He asks.
"I'm here to pick up my schedule from the counselor." I pull a piece of paper out my bag that has the emails talking about the schedule. He takes the paper and looks it over. He leads me to a room.
"She will be with you in a moment." He casually says and walks away. I pull out my phone so I have something do while waiting. A few minutes pass. She finally shows up.
"I am so sorry to have kept you waiting." She says as she quickly walks over to her desk to have a seat. I place my phone in the side of my bag.
"Its okay." I assure her.
"So about your schedule. We don't have all the classes you were looking for." I kind of shoot her a confused look. "We don't have that high of a math class here, so you will have to retake calculus." I just laugh out of frustration. New York doesn't have a high enough math class to continue my studies.
"Thats fine." I look down at my hands. "Anything else I should know about?"
"Nope that is all." She hands me my schedule. I carefully take it out of her hand and smile.
I show myself out of her office and back to the traffic of kids. I look around for my first class but can't find it anywhere. The bell rings. First day of class and I'm going to be late. I reach the end of the hallway and there it is. The classroom that wasn't to be found. I walk into the large room full of kids. All of their eyes on me.
"I presume you are Ms. Gug...." A man in his late forties says. He looks embarrassed for not being able to say my last name.
"It is Guglielmetti." I say very proud.
