     Y/N:  your/name

     Y/L/N:  your/last/name

Before I tell you about how one little trip to California changed my life, here is a little bit about me. My name is Y/N Y/L/N. I love acting and hopefully, one day I can move to Hollywood to pursue my dream. My dad died when I was seven years old, so I live with my mom. It's just us.

Today started out like a normal day. I woke up, rolled out of bed, and threw my sweats on.  I walked down the stairs and sat down at the table to eat breakfast. Like I said, it was a pretty average morning as usual. Or at least I thought.

My mom came down the stairs as I washed my cereal bowl and put it away. "Good morning honey!" She said as she embraced me in a warm hug. "Good morning!" I replied. She smiled at me. "Hey, Y/N, I have something to tell you." She said getting a box of cereal out for herself. I look at her confused. "What do you mean?" Her face lit up as she responded. "We are going to Los Angeles for the summer!"

My jaw drops and my eyes widen. What did she say?! I can't believe it. I have always wanted to go to L.A! I don't say anything. I just run over to her and give her a big hug. She smiles and hugs me back. "Ok, ok, you better get packing now. We leave in a couple days." I smile from ear to ear as I run up the stairs to my room.

"We're here!" I unbuckle and step out of the car. We stand in front of a hotel. It's huge!  "Wow!" We walk inside and get our room.

We enter our room and unpack our suitcases. "Mom how long are we staying here?" I ask. "A month." She says calmly, like its no big deal. "A month!" I respond excitedly. "Why a month?" "Because I know how much you love acting, so I have thought about it and decided that I will let you audition."

What?! Are you kidding me right now! This is my dream! I am speechless. "W-what? Mom your joking!" She smiles. "Nope. Honey, everyday you do nothing but watch tv. I can tell you are bored out of your mind. I thought if we stayed here for a while you could go to the beach, visit Disney Land, go to Hollywood premiers, and even audition for your own acting role." I run over and hug her again. She's the best.

Later that day I went to the beach. The ocean was beautiful and relaxing. I laid in the sand and watched the palm trees sway in the wind. I could get used to this. I stood up to get a drink from the cooler, when all of a sudden my towel was swept away by the wind. Crap. I run after it. Then I loose it. It is nowhere in sight, so I head back to our spot. "Hey," I hear someone call after me. "Is this towel yours?" I turn around to see a girl my age. She has platinum blonde hair and grayish, bluish eyes. She has a really nice tan, and she wore a blush pink one piece swimsuit. "Ya," I said walking over to greet her. "Thank you." She smiles. "I am Nicole, by the way." She said, reaching out her hand to shake mine. "But you can call me Nick." I nod. "I am Y/N." We both smile as we shake hands.

I walk back in my hotel room and hop in the shower. After that I change into some clothes and pull out my phone. After we met, me and Nick exchanged numbers. I start to text her.

Me: Hey!

Nick: Hey! Wussup? :)

Me: Nothing much. You?

Nick: Same. Nothing.

Me: Well, in that case we should hang out.

Nick: Yes! Meet me at the nearest Starbucks.

Me: Got it! See ya then! :)

Nick: See ya! :)

I smile and put my phone down. Today has been and officially is, the best day ever.
