Thank you guys for reading this story! And thank you for 1k reads and 100+ votes holy crap!! I was so happy when I saw that. :D Y'all rock.

In case you don't remember, this story is inspired by a dream I had about Cliff Burton - the sixth one I had of him. Here is how the dream went.

This was March 7th 2019, Thursday - the morning after I had the dream - and is taken straight from my diary. (Don't judge lol I love writing.)

******

It all started when I decided to record myself sleeping. Halfway through the footage, the camera crackled. When the video cleared again, Cliff was there lying next to me.

Except his eyes were wide open - glazed and unblinking, and he wasn't breathing. It was more his corpse than actually him.

Then suddenly, he rolled right off the bed with a loud thump, as I he was pushed off. His body fell completely limp at the foot of my bed.

I was never that scared, ever in my life - dream or reality.

I don't remember what happened in between much. All I remember is, Cliff was constantly ordering me around, threatening to kill me. I'd hear his voice and his bass playing everywhere I went. He wanted to kill me, to join him as part of the undead and become his personal slave. If I disobey, he'd do just that. (So it's follow his orders either way.)

One very important order was "Don't say a single word of this to anyone."

I broke that rule, and told one of my guy friends about it. I think we were outside my house. While we were talking, I saw Cliff's figure - a VERY angry figure - approaching us through a cloud of dust. I instantly took off yelling "I'm sorry!!"

He was faster than me and caught up, grabbing my shoulder.

Which was when I woke up from pure terror.

****

Honestly, that fucked me up for a few days. I couldn't look at Cliff the same way for like a week.

That's also where the inspiration for the title of this book came from. It's a lyric from Enter Sandman (obviously) and that song is about nightmares.

That was a nightmare, so it makes sense. (Or does it?👀)

That's it for this book! Now I can mark it as completed and sigh and relax. Once again, thank you guys so much for reading and commenting and voting - you're the reason this carried on! You guys were my motivation to continue.

Peace out, stay metal. \m/

And RIP, Cliff. You'll never be forgotten.
