The 4 inch tall robot finally got some love a year ago or so with the release of Zip Lash, but before that there was another 3ds title for the spreader of happiness. This game used the 3ds AR capabilities to take pictures of real life objects, dubbed nonstaljunk, and put them in a museum.
How do you take these pictures? With silloute film. All you do is line up the object will the silloute, snap a picture, and if the camera can recognize what the object is, you get a new nonstaljunk!
But, you have to buy the silloute film with happy points. Which brings us back to the foundation of all the chibi robo games. Cleaning and work. There's two ways to earn happy points. The first is go around and clean, using explore mode. The other is jobs. These bring back some of your favorite Chibi-Robo characters, like Drake Redcrest. And these jobs are way more fun than cleaning. You have to shoot balloons and clay targets with Drake Redcrest. Or even find explosives with a robot from like the 80s. These jobs are the backbone of photo finder, and if you don't enjoy them, you might need to find a new game.
Also, Chibi-Robo has two new characters assisting him in his hunt for happy points. Telly has moved forward in technological advancements, and is now a telephone.
And who is behind all this nonstaljunk nonsense? The poorly designed Mr. Curator, that's who. His voice and animation is downright creepy, at least I think so.
This game does add a lot of new characters, such as joshy bear and miss clayra.
Overall, it's a fun game. But if you are not a fan of repetition, I wouldn't recommend it. You can get Chibi-Robo and his photographic adventure on the 3ds eShop for $10.
