Lucas is at the door, I throw my shirt on and open the door. "What's up?" I utter breathlessly slightly opening the door. He smirks, knowing he caught me in the middle of something, "We all decided that we should go out to lunch. So why don't you take a minute and meet us downstairs?" I laugh with my eyes at him and smile. "Okay, fine. Give me five minutes." I shut the door and roll my eyes, "sorry, babe, we all are going out for lunch." He smiles a guilty smile "okay then, let's get dressed. You need to eat something anyway." I change out of my sweats and stained t-shirt, finding an acceptable outfit. I throw Tyler jeans and a nice shirt since I'm wearing skinny jeans and my favorite white blouse. I look at myself in the mirror, realizing my hair is a mess, grabbing my brush through it and pull it back. Tyler grabs his Sperrys, and I grab my Michael Kors sandals. We head downstairs hand in hand, ready for lunch. Lucas is laughing at a joke Noah had just told him, and Mia was rolling her eyes at them. "Hey, guys, are we all ready?" glancing towards them a thoughtful smile. Everyone grabs their purses and wallets to walk to the truck. Tyler insisted on driving after everything that happened last night.
As we make it to the restaurant, Lucas goes to open my door, letting me out. Noah and Tyler do a handshake, the boys go and grasp each other's hands and then pull their elbows to their chest. Then they bump their breasts together and snap. Mia smiles at the action they have just done making her laugh. Mia comes to my side of the truck and holds my hand, doing what best friends do. We go in together as the boys follow us. "Table for five please." I smile at the waitress as she all of us crumble inside. She smiles and leads us to our usual table, Tyler sits on one side of me while Mia sits on the other. Noah gracefully sits across from Mia as if he was a girl while Lucas clambers into the chair next to Noah. Noah starts laughing at the fact of him being so clumsy, "you know you aren't supposed to drink any alcohol before five, right?" Lucas playfully slaps Noah on the back of the head, "man shut up!" as he laughs a hearty laugh. I smile at the whole group in awe of how we're so happy, as a waitress comes up to take our drink orders. We all tell her what we went, and she goes to grab the drinks.
I feel a hand grab my thigh tightly. I look up at Tyler and smile a big goofy grin. Noah looks up at Tyler in disbelief, as I get up to excuse myself to the bathroom. Soon after Tyler follows, he bites my ear and whispers, "I knew you weren't going to wait that long to finish." I push his shoulder to the side and roll my eyes, "shut up, babe." I pull him into the bathroom, making sure no one was in here, then I block the door. I needed this distraction. Breathlessly I smash my lips into his, feeling the passion of the room caught on fire. He tugs my shirt off, and I do the same to his shirt. I pull my pants off rapidly and kiss him passionately again. His soft lips set me into a coma when I start feeling the room spinning. He picks me upside down and starts eating me out, and I moan loudly. So loudly, Mia is at the bathroom door. "Not now Mia, I'm in the middle of something," and just like that she was gone. After we finished we throw our clothes back on, fix our hair, and go back out to dinner.
"I hope you know what you're going to order because we are hungry." Lucas rambles annoyed, staring at me with the I need to talk to you look. The waitress comes back around, and we order our food. Lucas gets up and gives me a look to go outside to talk. I walk out with him, he provides a glance, the examination of disappointment. Lucas embraces me into a hug, "Cam, you know how Tyler treats you. You were just crying over him right before he got here. But now he's here, and this is the decision you make? Having sex in a restaurant bathroom?!" I look down sadly, "I was looking for a distraction, but I didn't have sex with him."
I mumble quietly. Lucas sighs at me, "you don't need Tyler to distract you. That's why you have us to keep your head level. What's going on? Are you freaking out about last night?" I look at him as my eyes fill up with tears, I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself. Lucas stares into my eyes, giving a "rather than" smile. I breathe one last sigh and spit out, "I wanted to show myself I'm not scared of anything anymore. I could've killed us last night, I was so stupid for not paying attention to the road, especially because it was raining. Lucas, I wanted to see the breath of life in myself." He runs his hand through his hair, penetrating nothing at all with his thousand-year stare. He's disappointed. I can feel it. He sighs with intent, "why didn't you talk to me? You know I'm always going to be here for you." I snuggle up into his arms and sob, realizing how real the car accident was for me. I see the nightmares flashback in my memory. My breathing comes to a halt as the memory fades back and forth through my mind. My body begins shaking, terrified of the next memory to fade through my mind. He shushes me to try to calm me down, knowing it was probably just worth a long shot. I inhale his shirt, smelling his cologne as he runs his fingers through my hair. I love when he runs his fingers through my hair.
Just then Tyler burst out the door the doors. "What the hell are you doing with my girl?! Why is she crying?" Tyler screams, exasperated at Lucas. Lucas looks straight at him and smiles, "I was calming your girlfriend down, obviously something you've never learned before." Tyler goes to throw a punch when Lucas catches his fist with his hand. He tries again, and Lucas blocks him with a tornado kick making him go down to the ground. He starts to get back up but doesn't make another move. Lucas grins a wicked grin, "Haven't you learned not to fight a black belt?"
Tyler stands down and tries to grab me to take me with him, but I back away leisurely. Memories run through my mind of all the times we fought about the essential things in life, our families and morals always lost in the process. The memory of our first Christmas rushed through my mind. I couldn't believe how good it was then. I start crying realizing all he's done is cause pain for me, "no Ty. I can't go with you because I need time and space. I need us to go back to like it was before. The sad thing is I know the new you and I can't stand him." I take deep breaths into Lucas's tear-stained shirt as Lucas holds me as my knees buckle. I halt my breathing sobbing to the point even Lucas thought it would never end. Noah comes out as Tyler starts coming back towards me. Noah goes to stand in front of him, blocking him from any movement towards me, and he becomes so exasperated that he takes off in his truck and roars away. I go to wipe up my tears, but they keep pouring, feeling like they will never end.
Noah goes inside to pay for the food and puts it in to-go boxes. Lucas takes my phone and calls my mom, he starts explaining what happened without all of the vast details and then asking her for a ride. We are sitting on the bench outside when she pulls up fifteen minutes later. My mom gives me a pity look feeling sorry for what had just happened. Lucas holds my hand the whole way home as tears keep rolling down my hot checks. We get home, and Mia takes out the break-up junk food: chocolate cookie dough ice-cream, chips and salsa, and dr.pepper floats. Noah puts on the best break-up movie known to time The Notebook. Lucas goes and grabs blankets and pillows as we all cuddle up to watch but knowingly in the back of my mind I realize everyone is making sure I'm okay. Lucas holds me through the beginning of the movie, but after the first thirty minutes, I have fallen fast asleep in his arms. Noah gets up on the couch with Mia, and she falls asleep too.
When we wake up, the movie is over, and the boys are on their phone. I look up at Lucas, and a wide grin crosses my face. He leans down, kissing my forehead in surprise. I look over at Mia and realize she's making out with Noah. Fuck it. I grab his face and kiss him passionately as my life depended on that kiss. He moves to get situated, and I crawl on top of his lap. His tongue moves in between mine, realizing everything feels right at this moment. I release my mouth from his and give him one last peck before I head into the bathroom. Mia follows me into the bathroom, she stares at me, trying to figure out how she's going to word her question. "I don't know what to say. Are you trying to cause yourself pain? Baby give yourself a break that's all I ask." I smile an understanding look and then look down. I get lost in my thoughts. She's right, I'll cause myself more pain moving on too fast. I need to make sure I'm okay before investing myself with a new relationship. I slowly move out of the bathroom and head towards Lucas. My eyes lead up to his, and the look of worry crosses my eyes. "I need to talk to you alone." Lucas stares back now just as worried as I am. He worriedly follows me up to my room.
