The Jester
Prologue

In my hand I hold the head of the one and only God of Earth and light, his name, Amaterasu. Beneath me the earth rages on in a internal war, humans against demons, demons against angels, and in the heavens, Gods fight for the Earth. I sit on my newly found throne and watch the world destroy itself because I am, The Jester, the God of fate and chaos, let me tell you the story before all this began.

Chapter 1
Ring ring. I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing in my ear. I look at my screen to see that it’s Bella calling and answer it. “Where. The. Fuck. Are. YOU!? The graduation is about to begin,” Bella yelled into the phone.

“Oh shit,” I said, shooting up out of bed. “That's today,” I continued, pulling on my jeans and falling over.
“Yeah, that’s today, dumbass,” Bella responds.
“Fuck you.”
“No thanks,” said Bella. I could practically see her rolling her eyes. I couldn't help laughing.
“Ha. Ha. You’re sooo funny,” I grab a shirt from my closet.
Bella responded with, “I try to be,” and hung up.

I finished getting dressed and grabbed the keys to my Camaro and ran out the door. When I got to my car, I remembered that I needed to lock the door. I live alone in a decent house. I have a good paying job, but I barely make it by sometimes. I pulled up in front of the high school and just decided to park around the block since the parking lot was full. It was a nice day, so I wasn’t too worried. I jumped out of my car and snatched my graduation gown from the back seat. Bella almost tackled me with a hug when she greeted me. By then it was time for me to give my speech since I was the valedictorian and going into the military. I went up to the stage and said my speech. Everybody cheered and congratulated me on getting the highest score and all that.

I finally got away from everybody crowding around me.

“Yo, dude, are you ready to go out to eat with our friends yet?” Bella yelled at me from across the hall.I told her to go ahead and that I would meet her there, but first I had to go do something. I went back to my car and drove to the local cemetery. When I got there I walked up to two certain graves. Kneeling down, I place a graduation gown on the one too my left. I left a bouquet of yellow roses on the grave to my right. There were four graves in all, but only two were important. I couldn’t help but cry. I cried for a least two hours before I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Bella tearing up.
“I miss them too,” she said. The four graves were my best friend’s family. Her mom, her step-dad, her younger sister, and Harleigh Kocher who’s gravestone
read: Beloved by many and remembered by all. Today we would have graduated and started a life, but they never found her or her sister’s body.

Chapter 2

I jolt awake in sweat, forgetting for a second that I’m on a plane. It took me a second to calm down.
“It feels so weird riding first class but I’ll get used to it soon,” I told myself out loud. I look around to see who heard me and saw a little girl in a pink dress. She looked lost, so I got up out of my seat to help her. I ask her if she was lost.
“I'm not supposed to talk to strangers.”
I smiled and said, “Well I’m Pvt. Aidan. What’s your name darling?” She told me her name was Sally Williams. “Hi Sally,” I said. “Are you lost?”
Sally said “No, my parents told me to wait here.”
“Oh,” I said with a surprised expression. “Would you like to sit next to me while you wait,” I asked. She responds with a strong yes and sat next to me for about 30 minutes. People who I assume were her parents came to get her. I stood up and we introduced ourselves. Her mom’s name was Jackilynn  and her Father’s name was Jeff.

We were about to start a conversation when the back half of the plane exploded. I heard Jackilynn shout “Zalgo” and grab Sally. I swear that they vanished from thin air when a deep voice said to me, “The book!”
After that I felt the air pull me to the back. The last thing I remember was a deep voice saying, “If you take something of mine, than I will take something of yours.”

Everything went black after that. When I woke up, I heard a TV stating the looked like a terrorist act happened on Flight 258 and that somehow there were 0 casualties. I got up off the cot I was laying on and left the tent. I walked out of the tent and realized I was at a base stationed in Japan. It's weird how things work out, because this is where I was flying to. The First Sergeant walked up to me and said called me “Private Owen.” I stood in salute form until the First Sergeant looked me in the eyes and said, “At ease. The Colonel wants to see you.”
“T-the Colo-nel?” I questioned.
“Did I fucking stutter? Yes, the goddamn Colonel, so get your ass in the tent,” the First Sergeant yelled.

I half way cowered into the Colonel’s tent and saluted. “At ease, Private Owen.” I put my feet shoulder length apart and clasp my hands at my belt line behind my back and nodded my head. “Good to see you’re not hurt,” he said.
“Thank you, Sir.” He nodded his head, accepting the thank you.
“You know why you were stationed here, right,” he asked looking up from the paperwork on his desk.
“Yes, sir.” I said without looking in his eyes, they scare me. “I am here to eliminate someone they call Bloody Painter, Sir,” I continued.
“Correct,” he said, looking back to the paperwork that cluttered his desk. The Colonel told me that I was supposed to pretend to be a senior transferred from America and if I saw him, I was to shoot him on site. He handed me a Colt Revolver and told me that everyday after school I would wait for him. I said I understood and was dismissed from the tent. Now this is where my story really begins. I walk into the high school and look around to make sure no one was watching me when pulled out my Colt to make sure it was loaded. I put it back in my bag and started down the hall when out of nowhere of the corner of my eye I saw him, The Bloody Painter, but when I pulled out the colt he ran at me with all his speed and got me in the neck with his knife but not before I emptied the colt into his stomach; that's when I heard his voice.
