4 Years Later
"Knock her in her place!"
"Go back to your cave, Loner!"
"C'mon, Zomono! Use your Manifest!"
I stand there, glaring at the green-skinned troll in front of me as nymphs, fairy-men, and creatures of Bluebell Forest cheer me on from the hills. The sun beats down, covered every now and then by the few wisps of clouds that are painted thin across the sky. The troll huffs, catching her breath as her dark yellow eyes throw daggers into my soul. I have never seen such a fire of fury in any trolls eyes before. It actually somewhat burns and it's humiliating.
For her.
I close my eyes and spin, my Manifest transforming me within the ball of fire in which I am shielded. My arms extend into wings and my feet into talons, a screech coming from my beak as I rush up towards the blue ocean of a sky from the rope bridge. I spread my wings, feeling the warmth of the sun on my gold fire feathers.
"Zomono's Manifest is Phoenix! That's so cool!" I hear a male voice from below me say, which is soon responded by a female voice.
"Dude, you're just now finding that out?"
I grin, leaving the conversation between my friend and lover.
"Last chance, you dirty troll," I sneer as I look down at the troll. "You have no place among us, the beauties of Bluebell Forest."
She looks up at me, defeat written across her face, and the thought of her giving up already puts me at the upper hand. The creatures hollers at me, and I close my eyes, knowing well that I will walk away with yet another victory.
"I will not give up!" She yells as she races towards me, and jumps.
I flip backwards, surprised at how high she could jump. I dive straight for her, the grin still plastered on my beak. How stupid of her to think that she can take a victory from the victor himself. I've never lost a battle, and I never will.
Never.
I spread my wings, blocking the troll's view as I build up ardor from inside me.
There's no way that she can escape from the enclosure I'm about to trap her in. A ball of fire to end in an explosion that she won't and can't escape from.
Or so that's what I thought until she pulls out a petal grenade and pulls the pin. In just seconds, it blows up, and I fall right back down on the bridge, landing on my feet.
"Gah!" I groan right before erupting into a coughing fit as I'm forced back into my fairy-man self. I fall to my knees, eyes watering as petals of various flowers fall around me like leaves in the fall. Looking up, I see nothing through Nature's confetti and I let my head fall to my knees. Irritation takes over me as voices start talking, they're words chipping at my dignity and status.
"Is he alright?" A voice says worriedly.
"How can he be alright if he's half left, and half right?"
"Dude, seriously?"
I shake my head at the voices, and I start to get up just to get tackled back down.
"What the...?" I start, taken by surprise but I'm flipped over on my back, finding myself facing the troll. She stands above me, her hand around my throat as her nails dig slightly into my light blue skin. I gulp in nervousness as I notice the large iron hammer in her other hand. "How did you...?"
"Save it for the Divine," she snaps as jumps into the air. "This is for all my brothers and sisters you've defeated, for those you beauties destroyed. This is for ruining our lives!" I quickly transform into a Phoenix, but it does nothing for me as she swings her hammer down on me, breaking the bridge as I'm slammed right through it.
