1000 Years Earlier...

Klaus and his sibling were close to the village they had been resided in one evening. They heard the cheers of the villagers as they watched from afar.

"What are they doing?" Kol asked, watching them gather around a burning pyre. "I do not know...do you hear that?" Rebekah said, hearing faint cries.

The elder three listened, hearing the cries as well. They grew louder as they saw their father approaching with a babe, no older than a year. Their stomachs dropped, knowing what was about to happen.

"My God, they're going to burn her alive." Finn breathed. "Elijah...do something." Rebekah cried, knowing that child was their siblings.

Before he moved, Klaus flashed over to the village and rushed over to Mikael. He took the crying babe from him and flashed away.

"Take her, get out of here." Klaus told them, "I'll follow."

The siblings nodded as Rebekah held the close to her chest, soothing her. Elijah told him to be careful and then flashed away.

For two days, they did not know what had happened to their brother. Klaus was known to be impulsive when it came to his temper.

During those days, Elijah had become taken with the child. She often slept in his arms. The siblings saw the want too protect her and that she was calmest in his arms.

"Are you going to raise her as your own?" Rebekah asked, looking at him. "I am thinking of it...but what happens with her. We are immortal, she is not." Elijah replied. "Perhaps we make her like us." Rebekah said, "when the time comes."
Elijah looked at her as he carefully rocked her. Right now, the elder just wanted to  protect the tiny child.

A few nights later, they were in a castle, impersonating royalty. Rebekah convinced Elijah to name their sister Rhiannon. He and the others liked it, happy to have her around.

"It's time to rest sweet one." Elijah said, setting her down in the crib before his bed.
Rhiannon sat up and looked him, her big brown eyes questioning him. He smiled, looking at her.

A knock made them look up, causing Rhiannon to call out. Rising, Elijah opened the door to see Klaus.
"Ik!" Rhiannon called. "Hello love." Klaus smiled, lifting her up.
"She's supposed to be sleeping." Elijah sighed. "Come now brother...as her uncle, I am supposed to spoil her." He grinned. "Very well then, you put her to bed." Elijah chuckled.

The small child soon fell asleep in his arms, making him smile. Elijah saw the peace in Klaus' eyes, knowing that Rhiannon was away from their parents.

"She's safe." Elijah said, making him nod. "We will do whatever it takes to keep her so." Klaus agreed. "I don't want her to ever find out the truth...ever...it would destroy her." Elijah replied.

A few years later, Rhiannon got sick causing all the siblings to fear the worst. A witch helped them but doing a immortality spell. It would freeze her aging when she turned 18. Elijah was relieved, thankful that Rhiannon would never be gone.
