{Grayson's POV}
It's a pretty mundane Monday afternoon as I sit across from my three closest friends in my living room, one of which being my twin brother, Ethan. His girlfriend of two years, Emma, lays her head on his lap as if filming the YouTube video we just filmed tired her out. She was being dramatic, but Ethan didn't seem to mind, he still rubbed her head as if she needed it. James, my final best friend of the group, glared at his phone, which his acrylics tapped on as if they had somewhere to be in a minute, always going too fast.
We were all so different, but still the four closest people in the world. They were the first people I came out to, admitting I was gay just a week ago. Only them four and my parents knew, the millions of fans the group totalled were oblivious.
This thought makes my eyes trail to the other gay member of the group, or maybe they moved to him because they silently admired the fact that he looked cute in glasses. He sat in a single lounge-chair across from the long one I rested on, his legs folded up.
As if he can feel my glare, James says "I promise this is the last email. Then you have my undivided attention." He doesn't look up or stop typing while saying this, the multitasking a trait of a workaholic.
Emma and Ethan don't move their eyes either, Emma shoots her blue eyes out the window while Ethan's are glued to the girl beneath him. His fingers continue lacing through her dyed-brown hair.
I sigh, undeniably jealous of their relationship. I'd never really been in love before, and I was almost certain it'd be a while before I was. I wasn't one to hide a relationship or my sexuality. And because of my .. physique .. most people assumed I was straight. I knew I'd need to give myself time to be comfortable with myself and come public about everything before considering a relationship. I was okay with that.
James' acrylics on the keyboard fill the otherwise silent room. I steal another glance at him, noticing how his lips pucker when he's concentrated. I grab a yellow decorative pillow from beside me and sling it a few feet across the room. It hits its target, smacking James in the face. The flying object caught Emma and Ethan's attention, too, both of whom now looked at me in shock. James starts laughing, "Bitch! What was that for?" He looks at me with an accusatory expression, but still playful nonetheless.
"Either that's the longest email in the history of man, or you forgot what you said ten minutes ago." I bite back, raising my eyebrows.
James smiles back at me mischievously, "Sorry for trying to be productive while you three mope around," he says with thick sarcasm.
"In case you didn't notice while you stared at your laptop, we were waiting for you," I playfully comment back.
James rolls his eyes at me, a smirk forming on his plump lips. I blush a little at our antics, and the fact that I always seem to glare for just a little too long.
"Are you two gonna' quit flirting so we can actually go to the cinema, you know, preferably before tomorrow?" Ethan interjects, earning a loud laugh and snort off Emma.
"Ethan," I laugh, "James doesn't have time to flirt." I glare at James again who gives me another eye roll and just laughs along, glossy lips stretching over perfect teeth.
I start getting up to distract myself from the slight butterflies I felt at Ethan's comment about James and I flirting.
Looking like that? I wish he was flirting.
We all pool into my Porsche, Emma and Ethan silently claiming the back seat. James climbs into the passenger seat as he meets my eyes which are travelling from his black pants to his yellow, cropped sweater from his own clothing line.
