ALICE'S POV

I get into poetry class and take my seat near the back of the class. Mrs.Harley is writing something on the board as usual. As students make their way to their seats, finish up yesterday's work, and talk with others, I finish up a poem I started yesterday in class.
Mrs.Harley was telling the class to settle down, so I hid my poem under a piece of paper and quickly glanced at the board. Wait....what?
I get a better glance. We are spending an entire period writing a letter to a stranger. Or what Mrs.Harley called them our "Pen Pal".
Mrs. Harley starts passing around envelopes and a blank pieces paper . Once everyone has an envelope, she explains In further detail about how the letters are going to a school in Florida to a random student in one of her teacher friends' classes. She makes us listen to a full lecture before finally letting us start writing.
I start writing my letter, not willing to admit this actually excites me. Who will the letter go to? What is he/she like? What is there social status? What is Florida like? I don't ask all those questions though, obviously. I keep my letter pretty general.
Dear Unknown,
Hello there. My name is Alice Favio. I live in New York, obviously. I enjoy Musicals such as Batboy- The Musical, Be More Chill (I think Jeremy and Micheal would be perfect together) and A Very Potter Musical. I am a girl (obviously) and I am a Junior at 15 years old.
Xoxo,
Alice F.
It's super cheesy, but I have to test what I am working with. I've seen the evil a mean girl can conjure up. I know what the Jocks can do to ruin your life. If she tells someone in her class and words gets to the pen pal that persons writing to and something gets spread across the school- I can't cope with it. Hopefully I get an underdog just like me. Then my world will stay at peace.
