Your POV

Empty. That's the only word to describe me right now. I was too shocked to feel anything other than cold. The only thing I had to keep me warm was the tight, short, revealing red dress they put me in.

"We'll take that one." A tall handsome man said while pointing at me. Two men came in and lifted me from my sitting position. They dragged me to a van and threw me in the back then got in behind me.

"He picked a pretty one this time."

"Yeah I hope I get to play with her." I here the men say to each other. I sat perfectly still in the backseat, some might've even thought I was dead.

After about two and a half hours, we finally arrived at our destination. The two men got out of the car and pulled me with them. They dragged me into the castle and into the throne room to meet the royal family.

"Your majesty, I'd like to introduce you to your new maid." Everyone in the room turned their attention to me. The heat rose to my cheeks as I locked eyes with a handsome man who I assume is the prince.

"Take her to Ms. Kim and have her take her to her assigned room. Also tell her to show her around and let her know all the rules." The king said and dismissed us with the flick of his wrist.

"Let's go pretty thing." One of my captors whispered to me before carrying me away. They dragged me through the beautifully decorated hallways and stopped at a small door at the end of a dark hall. One of the men opened the door while the other shoved me into the office.

"Ms. Kim, his majesty has asked that you take the new girl to her room and explain the rules and duties to her." My captor said. The woman in front of me was beautiful and only slightly older than me.

"Thank you gentlemen you may go now." She looked up at me and gave me a small, sympathetic smile.

"Let's get started shall we! I'm Se-ra by the way." She stuck her hand out and waited for me to shake it. I placed my shakey hand in hers and looked up into her kind eyes.

   "Y/n." I whispered

"Come, I'll show you to your room." She led down the dark hallway towards my new sanctuary. She stopped at a door at the end of the hall and opened it. I stare in awe at the beautiful and most likely expensive decor.

The room was twice the size of mine at home. There was a queen sized bed with a white, blue, and silver bedspread which matches the rest of the room. To the right was my own bathroom and to the left was a walk in closet.

"The room is beautiful." I whispered in awe. Se-ra smiled brightly at me.

"I'm glad you think so! Now for the rules. Number 1, no leaving your room unless you're working or the royal family asks for you. Number 2, stay out of the forbidden areas unless escorted by a member of the royal family. Number 3, go to every meal and party. And number 4 the most important rule. You can't say no to the demons unless you're claimed by one." She says in a hurry.

"What do you mean claimed?" She gives me a small sympathetic smile before continuing.

"A demon can claim you as his possession. Once they claim you, no one else can touch you or they face the death penalty."

"Well that's a little harsh."

"Yeah. Let's go, I'll show you to the garden." She grabs my hand and leads me down the halls and out doors. She lead me into a beautiful garden with all kinds of rare gorgeous flowers.

"Why don't you go explore. I'll be right back to take you back to your room." I nodded at her and she left. I made my way to the bench and started admiring the poppy's and orchids.

"What are you doing here?" A deep voice asks from behind me. The handsome man from the throne room stepped into my line of sight.

"Running a marathon. What does it look like I'm doing?!" I said in a sarcastic tone. His dark eyes narrow into an icy glare.

"Excuse me?!" He growled. He reached out and grabbed my hand, yanking me up.

"You better learn your place maid." He said through gritted teeth.

"Can I please get a good nights sleep before I have to start learning my place." I mocked. His eyes widened in what looked like shock before narrowing again.

"I'll let it slide since it's your first night but don't let it happen again." His grip on my wrist tightened as he stared into my eyes.

"Well you're arrogant aren't you." I said with a snort. His glare turned into a curious gaze as he kept looking at me.

"Why aren't you afraid of me?" His brows crease in confusion.

"Why would I be?" He chuckles darkly and steps closer to me. He leans into my ear and puts his hand on my waist.

"Because I'm dangerous." He says, making his lips brush against my skin.

"Everyone here is dangerous." I say shakily. He chuckles again as he leans back and looks into my eyes again.

"Keep that in mind sweetheart." Did he just call me sweetheart?

"I have a name you know!" His lips lift into a handsome smirk.

"Then why don't you tell me it?" He lifts his hands and pushes my hair behind my ear.

"Um e-excuse me your m-majesty but I must t-take her back to her c-chambers." Se-ra stutters out, avoiding eye contact. His smirk falls and his glare returns as he faces her.

"Ms. Kim, you should know that it is rude to interrupt a private conversation by now."

"I-I'm sorry sir b-but your father t-" he cuts her off rudely.

"I don't care what my father said. Next time just leave us. I'll take her back to her room." She nods quickly and turns to walk away until I stop her.

"I'll go back with you. I don't want to risk getting you in trouble." I walk away briskly with Se-ra leading me back to my room. As soon as we're out of sight, I breathe out in relief.

"You shouldn't have done that miss. His majesty does not like people talking back to him. Especially maids." We finally arrive back to my room. She walks into my closet and picks out a night gown and lays out my uniform.

"All of your toiletries and necessary items are all put away. Rest up and I'll come get you for work tomorrow."

"Thank you Se-ra." She smiles and walks out of my room. I lock the door behind and start preparing for bed before falling into a deep slumber.

Hey guys! I know the chapter was boring but I promise it'll get better soon.
