Why would he want a date with me?

(October's POV)

I woke up this morning tired as hell. I shouldn't have stayed up until midnight, studying for my finals. I know I need to do well on them. If I don't, my mom won't be too happy.

  "October, could you come down here please?" My mom hollered.

  I shuffled down from my bedroom.

  "Yeah?" I said, reaching the kitchen.

  "I know it's your birthday and all, but you have to take April trick-or-treating tonight," she said.

  "What? Why?" I muttered.

  "I have to work late tonight.  I won't be out until at least eleven o'clock," she stated with a stirn tone in her voice. "It's not like you had some miracle and suddenly had friends to hang out with on your birthday." Wow. That wasn't necessary.

  "Yeah. I get it. I'm such a loser that I have not a single friend. Thanks for making my day," I snapped with a sarcastic tone. "April! Let's go!" I stormed out of the house with April, without a single ounce of food in my stomach.  I wasn't hungry anymore.

   I walked April to school, then went to my own source of hell. Well the other. Things were no different than any other. People would dress in their costumes,  and tease me for not having one. Saying 'Are you going as your own ugly self this year?' It got to me for a while, but now I am used to it.

  Nobody knew it was ever my birthday, but I didn't really care. It is just another day. In the same ole situation that I have been in for years. I wouldn't be surprised if my seventeenth birthday would be the same.

  "Hey October!" I heard Maggie come running from behind me.

  "Hi," I said in monotone.

  "What's wrong?" She asked concerned

  "I have to take my sister out trick-or-treating tonight," I sighed.

  "Well that's not so bad-" she started to say before I cut her off.

  "And it's my birthday," I finnished.

  "IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY?!" she squealed.

  "Shhh!" I snapped.

  "Sorry, why don't you want people to know it's your birthday?" She questioned.

  "I just don't see the point in all the celebration.  I mean, it's just another day. Nothin' special," I stated.

  "It is YOUR birthday. A day dedicated to the day you were born. Don't your parents make a big deal out of it? I know mine do," she asked.

  "No. They barely even know I exist," I sighed, looking down at the sairs as we walked up them.

  "Oh. What about grandparents, don't they come over to visit for the special occasion?" she questioned.

   "Don't have any," I simply said.

  "Oh," she said.

By the time we had finished the awkward conversation, we had already reached my first hour. It was almost time for class to start.

  "I should go. See you in History," she said, and politely walked away.

  ~~~~~
The whole day was a drag. Teachers were rude. People were conceded, making the conversation the class had started all about themselves.  People are just horrible sometimes.  I just haven't seen the good in this raise.
  History~
  "Now to begin the next section in our curriculum,  we will be divided into teams of three to work on our next big assignment. Line up on the side of the wall so I can count you off." the teacher proclaimed. Why must he always put us in groups?
  We lined up as told. There were exactly twenty- seven students in our class. That would equal up to nine groups of three.
  "1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9" he pointed to me as a nine.
  I walked over to an area and held up the number nine with my fingers.  People began to scatter abouts the room.
  "Hey October!" Of course Michael would be in my group. Again.
  "Hi." I replied in an unmeaningful grumpy tone.
  "What crawled up your ass today?" He snorted.
  "Nothing," I huffed.
"Whad up Calum?!" Michael left the subject alone to welcome our last member. Calum Hood. Varsity football.  Great.
  "Helloooo pretty lady!" He ejected in flirty way.
  "Hi," I responded, looking up. Michael didn't look to happy by that, but who cares.
  "So what do you say?" He winked.
  "'Bout what?" I asked.
  "How's it, you and I go on date sometime? Say tomorrow night?" He smirked.
  "Uh...," I was too stuned to respond.  Why would he want a date with me?
I look over to Michael again, seeking for an answer, and he gave me one. His snarle was clear he didn't like the idea.
  "Yes. I'll go out with you. Tomorrow sounds great."
