“Hurry up Red!”
I looked up and my best friend yelling at me. She was happily waving at me 10 feet away. I rolled my eyes.
“You know I’m slow!”. I caught up with her and she linked our arms. “I know but as a good friend I live to encourage you”.
We were in Barcelona on a university trip and today was the only day that we had to explore the place before we leave tomorrow. We were strutting down a busy street with cute little shops and bookstores. I was amazed at how beautiful everything looked. The buildings were old but yet somehow their beauty remained untouched. Almost frozen in time.
We stopped at a café to get some iced coffee and we resumed our walking.
While passing by a little bakery I looked at the store beside it and paused. It was a used bookstore. It fascinated me. The exterior of it was quite old that you would hardly spare a glance at it.
“Red! Let’s get some cake from the bakery” my friend said as she tugged at my arm.
“Can you go in and get them. I kinda wanna check out this bookstore”.
I heard her groan. “You know for a 21 year old girl in her prime, you should stop being a book nerd”. I turned to her and I pushed my glasses up my nose. “Well maybe you should start being a book nerd than to cheat off  my papers”. She looked at me and laughed. “Never!”. I laughed as she walked into the bakery. I walked to the window of the bookstore and something caught my eye. I bent down to have a closer look and I didn’t notice someone standing next to me. He was crouched over looking at it too.
“Magnificent isn’t it?” He said.
“Yeah it is” I replied. It was an old typewriter and it was beautiful. I imagined myself sitting at my desk tapping away on it. I smiled and closed my eyes unaware of the stranger looking at me.
