Hello peeps:3 The first chapter! Isit too short?:/ READD ONN:D Apologise for repetition! My mind is tireddddddd.

I took a deep breath before knocking on the gold plated door. Even if Carelle was a messed up world, there were still people with  authority.

It took me 4 years to finally get the Head of the Grimore household to trust me, well not completely, but it was good enough.

After 4 long years of working hard at the manor, I was promoted to being the Kyo of the house.

There were five ‘ranks’ at the manor, the lowest being the servants, next were the Sens, they were the ones managing the servants.

Followed by the Rins, they help in killing or making deals that would benefit the household.

After that were the Kairins, they are the most skillful ‘guardians’ of the house. Well they protect the household, and finally, the Kyo.

A Kyo protects the Head of the Grimore household, so a Kyo is like a personal bodyguard. To become a Kyo, a Kairin will have to kill the current Kyo.

I killed the previous Kyo to be what I am now, and of course, I felt no guilt or even had regrets. Well I haven’t had the pleasure of killing for a while now so I was quite delighted.

I knocked on the door, as elegant as a lady would, and sauntered into the finely carpeted room. “My Lord, I thank you for allowing me to be your Kyo and I am truly honored.

Is there any errands you would like me to run for you?” I said, kneeling down with only one leg and my left hand across my shoulder as a symbol of respect.

My words often don’t match my thoughts, all this while I have been thinking why I should even thank that bastard, let alone kneeling to him. Well at least his attitude wasn’t so bad.

As he nodded for me to get up and assigned me a few errands, I took a quick glance at him, he was young and well built, and had hair as breathtaking as the golden sun, his eyes were of the most shocking blue and was very charismatic as well.

I was shocked as he was able to manage one of the greatest households in Carelle, as most of the Heads of the other households were pervertic old geezers.

I was still day dreaming when he was about to send me out but lucky for me, I was still aware of my surroundings.

This was something my father carved in my personality --- Always be alert and aware of your surroundings. Memorize the battlefield between you and your opponent so as to use it to your full advantage.

And remember, always stay sharp, don’t let yourself be the one being stabbed in the back.

My father’s words were always wise and helpful, but my mother always thought that I was still too young to learn these.

I don’t hate my mother though, she was right, I am a monster. But it still hurts when she said it. I was saddened for a while, but I strengthened my heart so I will never be hurt again, and will never hesitate to kill due to pity.

As I walked out of the room, I knew I already know the room as my own, and to what I can make full advantage of, to benefit myself.

I always took full precaution, as I will never know if this humble, innocent room will be a battlefield. With that, I walk out with a smile on my face, my hands brushing against the ruby stones embedded on the walls.
