Second Chapter ^.^ Sorry for horrible grammer! EOY coming, didn't have time to edit >.< LOL. Happy Reading!:3

I prepared the essential weapons I needed for this errand. It was not exactly dangerous; I just needed to negotiate with the Kyo of the Galette household about the price of a sacred item that that bastard wants.

I was just getting prepared, as I am quite stubborn and things always turn out, well messy I guess. I hid a pocket knife beneath my harmless looking shoes and two guns in my jacket.

I dressed myself as an elegant lady, prim and proper enough to pass off as an innocent young lady. I know of many accents as well, as I have disguised myself in many different personalities in order for people to trust me enough, so as to get what I needed.

I took the train – as the Galette household was far from here; a day precisely. The carriage I chose was the one at the back, as I could escape easily if anything happens. I tried my best to stay awake, but eventually I got tired, and I slowly drifted off to sleep.

I had a dream, of my treacherous past; of the day my parents were killed. It was a day I would not like to remember.

That day, one of the royal households appeared on our doorstep, as we had a 20 million yen debt (it was more of a we-did-not-pay-the-taxes-to-that-household- kind of thing.)

Of course, we did not have that kind of money so they made a deal with us – They will keep my parents as their slaves and in order to set them free, I would have to buy my own parents from them; each of them costing 10 million yen excluding interests.

I was only 8 then, but I did everything I could to accumulate as much money to save them;  I robbed, stole and did all kinds of highly paid jobs to earn the money.

By the time I accumulated 20 million yen, the interests have already caught up to 34 million yen. Even knowing that I could never buy my parents back, I never gave up hope.

One day, I received a poster; saying “Shana Grimlock and Mako Grimlock will be executed today!

At 3:00pm.” I froze. My parents… They were going to be executed… I felt a pang of sadness hit me, leaving my face flushed in a heartbeat.

I love them, but they were going to die today.

Grabbing the poster, I ran to that household and barged into the Head’s room. I demanded for an explanation.

The Head of the household said that he got tired of waiting, and my parents were of no use to him, so he decided to execute them.

I wanted to kill him, but I knew I had no chance of even surviving, let alone succeeding in killing him. I ran to the execution platform, and saw my parents. My mother mouthed a few words to me, but I could not make out what she was trying to say.

She was mouthing this word over and over again. Then I finally got it. She was telling me to run. I grew alert and became aware of my whole surroundings and saw snipers everywhere, looking for me I suppose.

I ran to where everyone crowded around,(Near the execution platform) and tried my best to blend in with the crowd. I spotted Mai, my mother’s best friend.

Tears were trickling down her half blushed cheeks, and she was writhing in agony. I tugged at the edge of her tattered dress. When she saw me, she immediately hugged me.

She already noticed the snipers, and was relieved that I was still alive and well. As I saw my mother, with tear stained cheeks, and heavy, droopy eyes, she mouthed her last words to me, as the executioners cut off my parent’s heads.

I have never forgotten my mother’s last words to me: I love you. She had never said that to me, and I’ve always thought she viewed me as a monster, a devil child.

After Mai took me in, she changed my name to Tsukiyomi Sanae and dyed my luscious brown hair red.

The color of crimson red blood, deep in many meanings, and carried a strong will. I stayed with Mai for 2 years and she have always treated me as her own child, and loved me very much.

I was still a criminal though, as I never paid off the debt my family owed.

Mai told me that she wanted to show me a place, she said that she spent her childhood there, and she wanted to show it to someone special; and that someone was me.

I smiled cheerfully and agreed to go with her. The place was beautiful; green pastures everywhere, flowers blooming in every color imaginable, a stream that runs gently, dividing the place into half.

Everything was so beautiful and dreamy.

Then, everything changed in an instant. The peaceful scenery changed into an atmosphere with murderous intent and Kairins of that treacherous household came, I turned to Mai, but Mai was grinning from ear to ear, but it was clearly not a nice, happy one.

Not the smile she gave me when she hugged me, or when I did her proud.

It was the kind of smile that empties your heart, the smile that held hatred to the extent that you will tremble and fall, and the kind that held many  deep meanings behind it.

I looked at her, confused and shocked. “Sanae, surprise!” She said in a deep, eerie voice, not in a voice that was always careful and gentle.

She cackled in laughter. She wasn’t the Mai I knew anymore.

Then, everything came to me. I backed away from her, saying “You lied to me… You betrayed me even… You… You said…” I couldn’t bear to continue anymore.

Tears streamed down my face as I choked on my own words. “I didn’t lie to you. I never did. I said that you were special, and I meant it. I’ve always hated you. Feared you. You don’t deserve Shana’s love and you DON’T DESERVE TO HAVE SHANA AS YOUR MOTHER! Shana… SHANA DIED BECAUSE OF YOU!” She screamed.

I backed away from her even more, I was terrified, too shocked to say anything, and I stood up and ran away. I ran and ran and ran, never looking back. I ran into the Dark Forest, and passed out there.

The Grimlock Household saved me, and took me in as a servant.

That was how I climbed my way up to be a Kyo.
