"Mommy, mommy, look what I found!" said a young Hoseki as she picked up a small pin from the street.

Her mother came to her side, and took the small pin from her hands.

"Hoseki, you know it isn't good to pick up things that aren't yours" her mother said.

Hoseki looked down at the ground, ashamed.

"I'm...sorry." as she teared up.

Her mother knelt to her level and put her arms around her in a comforting way.

"Sweetie, I'm not mad at you so don't cry" she said as she soothed her daughter's back.

"You aren't?" as Hoseki tried wiping her tears.

"Of course not!" as her mother used the hem of her dress to wipe away Hoseki's tears.

"Don't you have work to do, mommy?" as Hoseki pointed to brothel across the street.

Her mother looked sadly at her and then she hugged her.

"Hoseki, even if I am gone, please remember that mommy will always be there"

Hoseki looked confused and she tilted her head.

"Where?"

Her mother chuckled and put her finger on her tiny body, right above the heart.

"In your heart, silly"

Hoseki didn't understand but she just went with and hugged her mother back.

Her mother stood and straightened out her dress.

"Hoseki, come with me"

"Okay mommy"

Hoseki and he mother walked towards the most beautiful place Hoseki had ever see.

It was the sun dropping from the sky and setting like an upside boat on the water.

"Mommy, why do you come here a lot"

Her mother looked at the setting sun and sighed.

"Sweetie, the world is so hard to live in, it's like I'm carrying a big rock and if I make a mistake, the rock just drops on mommy's head."

Hoseki gasped.

"Does it hurt?" Hoseki worriedly asks, not understanding.

Her mother chuckled and she dropped to her daughter's level.

"I know you don't understand now, but I know that you will later so please, sweetie, please try to survive"

Hoseki giggled and said "Okay!"

Her mother sighed and them smiled, amused at her daughter's antics.

"Let's go home"

"Okay mommy!"

Hoseki grabbed her mother's hand and walked as she smiled her mother's hand.

As they walked back to their home, a bunch of soldiers were passing by and when they saw Hoseki, they stopped them.

The leader of the soldiers approached her mother, who appeared frightful.

"Is that one of the majesty's children?"

Her mother made no comment and only squeezed Hoseki's hand.

Hoseki's eyes soon teared up.
