Niko rubbed the tired out of her eyes as she slowly sat up in bed. The sun was barely rising, the ocean breeze wafting in through the slit of the window. She yawned, and stretched, pleased with the satisfying pop of her bones. She swung her legs off the bed, and stood up, shuffling into the bathroom.
After clean-up, she felt more refreshed, and made her way into the closet. She slipped on a navy romper, and fastened on bangles, hair clips, and most favored flower pin on. She let her curls bounce at her shoulders, and slipped on a pair dirty-beige sandals. Sucking in a breath, she ignored the mirror and moved into the kitchen.
IHer house was massive, and the only one along this beach. Being a water-type fanatic, she loved looking out the window to see the Pokémon splashing around in the ocean.
In the kitchen, her Slowpoke was milling about, already waiting for her to make breakfast. She whipped up the good stuff for him, something simple for herself, and a steaming cup of Tapu Cocoa. After finishing her meal, she threw open her front door, arms raised, welcoming the luxury of the sun.She stiffened as she felt a gaze piercing her. She jumped as her head dropped to see Guzma laying out across her porch. He smirked at her, and laughed loudly.
"You should've see the look on your face! Fucking priceless!"
Niko grunted, kicking him lightly in the side. He was such a stalker, it annoyed her at times.Guzma, the ex-boss of the disbanded Team Skull, was nothing more than a lonely man without any friends, wanting nothing more than to prove that he could be better than who he once was. After Lusamine manipulated him, he really fell into a self-wallowing ditch. It was actually Lillie who suggested to Hala that he go out and find Guzma, to help give him a second chance. After dragging his sorry butt out of Po Town, Hala agreed to help Guzma through his 'retribution', but only if Niko were to train Guzma and teach him how to be a better person overall.
It's hard to say no to an island Kahuna, even as the 'Champion of Alola', there were rules that the islands had to follow. Besides any of that, Niko didn't mind the challenge that much. At the very least, it was a break from the trainers that showed up randomly demanding a battle or a rematch.
Niko huffed, heading back inside. Guzma sat up, nose sniffing the air, "Is that Tapu Cocoa, yo?!"
He shot directly into the kitchen and towards the extra cup on the counter.
Ever since Guzma started coming around, Niko had started making an extra cup of Tapu Cocoa. She knew it was his favorite, after all, it was one of passwords she had used at Team Skull house a long time ago.Somedays, Niko would drink the extra cup herself when Guzma decided not to show up; other days, Guzma did as he does - stalkishly appear on her porch with no invitation nor announcement.
Niko snickered at Guzma; the big, bad, tough boy always managed to go soft when he sat in her kitchen. Especially more so when he sipped at his favorite drink."Ah! Fuck! Hot!" Guzma said, poking at his tongue gently.
Niko shook her head, and wagged a finger at him.
"Yeah, well ya know what? Ya boi is gonna beat you today, just you fucking wait!"
Guzma grumbled something under his breath, before attempting another sip at the Tapu Cocoa.Niko rolled her eyes, heading back out of the house. She pulled out her pokeball, letting her Primerina, nicknamed "Poppy", out for a pre-battle stretch. Niko never expected Guzma to get past her starter Pokémon, as he could hardly attack Poppy in the first place.
Niko rubbed Poppy's head, the water Pokémon whistling with delight.
Niko giggled, the site of a happy Pokémon always made her feel warm inside."Him again? You've got to be fucking kidding me," Guzma grimaced, his voice laced with annoyance.
Niko glanced back at Guzma, who crossed his arms, furrowing his brows, giving her a grand look of disliking. Niko frowned, and dismissed him with a wave of her hand.
