Something stopped me from telling them and I did not know what it was. Intuition, somehow? No, it was something else. Something else I was now encountering, obviously.

Since I had seen the memory, nothing was explainable. Me suddenly grabbing the ice cream in the fridge. Me staring at the lamp for an hour. All I knew was that my head felt empty. No, not empty because of shock but more like brain dead empty. I didn't know why.

I felt something snap at my nerves and that was when I became alert at everything. The snap didn't make the connection break although it did a serious damage. Every nerve connected to my host was important and nobody knew what would happen if one of them would break.

She was trying to control me.

      Silently.

If that wasn't the reason then what was? What would explain an unseen force attacking the nerves of the prey? Only the predator would act defensively against his prey. But.. There was this thought that another prey could take over a prey; making me as a predator. If that was the case then who or what was my prey?

All of it was making me delirious and it made everything around me blurry. Not just my surrounding but everything. Thoughts, her face, her personality, memories, my Comforter, my Candidate and my Inserter, everything were indeed blurry.

"Bliss," a voice alarmed me. I turned around and saw my Comforter, Alex, and grateful of his timing, ran to his arms that served as my barriers. He did what I loved the most about his style to comfort, saying absolutely nothing.

I did not cry. I just buried my face into his chest while his arms were repetitively rubbing my shoulders and back.

After about a long time, he whispered, "Never ever think about doing that."

Confusion flooded me. Doing what? Eating ice creams? Staring at lamps?

"Let go of the blade now, Bliss. It's making a severe damage." I looked up at him and saw that he was eyeing the blade that I was tightly grasping. Slowly, ever so slowly, I released the blade. It made a clattering sound before decorating  the floor with my blood. My eyes grew wide with horror. When did I ever grab hold of that?

"Tell me what you saw," I told him with a shaky voice.

Without further ado, he satisfied my curiosity and muddled confusion. "Before I enter your room, I did the natural process. Firstly, I knocked on your door. Second came me calling out your name and lastly, I listened through it. Hearing you grunt and say some absurd things, I warned you about me going in your room. You didn't seem to notice and I thought you were just dreaming but when I entered the room, I saw you looking through your window, your back was my view, your head up in a bun and you were holding a blade. I was shocked but I watched you. Thoughts crossed my mind that maybe you were just sleepwalking, you had earphones that's why you didn't hear me and maybe, just maybe, you were doing something innocent, like cooking."

He breathed slowly before he continued on with his details, "I was mortified when I saw you raising up the blade but I trusted you so watch you, I did. When the blade reached up to your hip bone, you did the most stupidest thing that a Spirit could do with its own Anchor. You slide the blade through your skin and that was when I reacted. I didn't know exactly what was your point but when I saw you hurting yourself, I called out your name. You flinched, shook your head, turned to me and looked at me with eyes that I am sure are not yours."

"I remained my position and saw your eyes dilating. At the corner of my eye, I saw you grip the blade tighter and heard a soft grunt before your eyes soften. After that, you ran into my arms, the blade still in your hand before mumbling something that sounded like 'I lost'."
