I woke with a start. I was in the room i woke up in every morning, only it was different. It was darker and a thick black and red liquids stained the floors and the walls. The door opened slowly, I sat up more and pulled my knees to my chest. The door opened completely and someone came in with a cart, their body was disfigured and made a painful cracking sound with every movement. I tensed. They pushed the cart to beside my bed and sat a bowl of some  slimy substance in front of me. I looked at it for a long second. There were worms sliding around between the substance and another. I sat still in a ball trying not to make any sudden moves, there was more cracking as the thing walked out of the room.

I kicked the bowl on to the floor and stood on the bed. I watched the worms move from one another. The bowl busted and I jumped off the bed making sure not to step on it, I ran as fast as i could to the door. Throwing it open i tripped over my shoes and  almost fell. I ran down the hall trying not to fall. At the end of the hall I stopped to try to catch my breath. My chest and sides hurt. I finally looked around at the hall and realized i had never been this far down the corridor. All though i didn't recognize anything through all the stains on the walls and floor. I looked at the name tags to see if i recognize any of them, i stopped when i saw Max's name.  The door was cracked slightly but it was dark inside.

"Max?" i whispered opening the door.  There was a candle burning on the bedside table next to Max's gloves. I gently lift it trying not  to burn my hand. Not much was illuminated by the light of the candle. I heard whispers coming from a corner behind me.  I turned around slowly, the darkness behind me slowly fades in the warm glow of the candle. It was Max. His back was to me and he was whispering something i couldn't hear.

"Max? What's going on?" he stayed turned away. I gently put my hand on his shoulder pulling him softly to turn around.  I looked at his white shirt and pants. They were covered in blood. I slowly lifted my gaze to meet his... will to look at the bloody empty socks that were now placed there.

"Connor. I don't have to see! I don't have to see anymore!" he smiles as blood oozed down and slivers of the remaining muscle hanging where his eyes should be. He grabbed me. I dropped the candle and tried to get away. He grabbed me tighter. I couldn't see him, not that i wanted to, he shook me.

"Max! Stop!"i tried to push him away. He fell to the ground making me fall on top of him. He grunted." Calm down Max" he shook intensely. "Your bleeding!" i whispered  and stood up pulling him up. "Lets get u to the nurse office. Maybe we'll find bandages and it will help with the bleeding." i held his hand. His nails dug into my hand making me whimper.

"You don't need to hold on to me." he jerked his hand away from mine leaving deep gashes. I hissed in pain holding as i felt the damp sticky liquid slowly drench my hands. I could hear him step away from me. The door opened more making me squint at the sudden light. Max stood putting on his gloves. His injured eyes looked worse in the little bit lighting of the corridor. I walked to him and slowly started down the hall.

"Do you know where we're going?" i asked.

"Take a left at the turn." he said lowly from next to me. He was counting each step like he was remembering where he had to go. I turned left and saw the nurse sign. I heard the cracking a cracking noise. "what the hell is that sound?" he whispered and i looked for some kind of door to hide in. A closet was to my right. I grabbed max with my uninjured hand and pulled him into it. I shut the door covering Max mouth. I pushed my body against his as he clawed my wrist with his hands. He stopped when the cracking came closer. His breath hitched and his hands fell. I pulled away. "Hush till it leaves." crack.... crack ...crack....It passed in front of the door and slowly faded. It took only a few moments but it felt like hours in the small dark closet. I could the heat from Max's breath on the back of my neck. Making me slightly more tense. I slowly opened the door. The hinges creaked and Max's breath hitched.

"It's gone." i whispered stepping out of the closet.

"Are you positive?" He wispered still behind me. "What was it?"

"Im not sure. Lets keep going." I hurried to the nurses office, makeing sure to lock the door. Max stood in the moddle of the room as I looked in cabinets and drawers for bandages. The over head lights were dim and damaged giveing the room a orangey glow. The light made it harder to see in corners and behind things.
"Can you find any?" Max asked still standing in the same place. I was still looking.
"Not yet but im sure I will." I went to a closet and rummaged through it. I found a few circle bandages and some gause and heades over to max.
"Let me bandage you up with out you hurting me again." I said opening the bandages. He tensed as I gentaly layed them on is eyes, he flinched. I didnt know where Max mentaly stood. From him clawing out his own eyes made me relize he may not have been the best person to be friends with.  I wraped the gause around his eyes to the back of his head then around again. He held it so I could pin it up.
