*He grabs the fence on both sides of me; While leaning in closer, his weight pushes the fence forward. I suddenly feel trapped.
"Blaye. Visit me everyday." A bit startled I twirl around but immediately regret it feeling even more caged in. "Every time your parent's start a fight or even begin to argue, come here." My chest swells up from the sound of his oddly concerned words.
"But..." Is it really okay? For some reason all I can think of is him yelling: "Go home!"
"No buts!" He jolts the fence behind me while tightening his grip. "I won't have you listening to them anymore." He states.
Letting go of the fence and steps away while adjusting his tie. "It rains a lot here. I know a place you can go when it does. Follow me." He turns and starts walking as I feel no choice but to follow him. My heart and head still pounding.
Slender then lead me to a concrete tunnel-like structure. Large enough to hold fifty people underneath; And long enough to where if you yelled it would echo. And there in the corner of my eye at the end of the tunnel, I saw another note. But this time I didn't bother going over to read it. In the end there was no need.
"How many notes are there?" I finally ask coming to a stop at the center of the tunnel.
"Eight." I turn to see his hands in his pockets. "But there are a bit more than eight places for the notes to be found at." To be found? Why does it sound like a trail or a game? Looking at the walls of the tunnel I stroll over to one side and flop down against it. It was cold.
"You really want me to come here when they fight?"
"... I'd prefer if you did." He answers a bit less genuinely. I notice he was looking down the tunnel.
"Sit down." I suggest. He looks at me as I pat the ground beside me. And as expected, he just stares with almost a silent 'I disagree'. But despite it, he still took his hands out of his pockets and sat down next to me. That's right, I almost forgot. "A physic will be coming soon." I start, continuing with our endless conversation.
"Is that so..."
"But that's only because you messed with my parents at the dining table."
"You were smiling though." He caught me.
"That's not the point..." I say slowly. "Also, how come my parents couldn't see you? I'm starting to feel like I've made you up in my head or I've gone crazy."
"Don't be stupid, I am very real. It's just something I can do."
"There a lot of things you can "Just do"" I mock his nonspecific answer. I must have annoyed him because he doesn't respond. "Come on, at least explain a little bit more! Like- when did you find out you could do all those things?"
"...First off, I didn't have the ability's right away, they came with age. If I remember correctly... Knowing where people are from a far away was one of the first. ...And for some reason... Kind of like how a dog has the ability to 'smell fear...' that goes for me too." Slenderman turns out to be less and less human the more I talk to him.
"So... that's how you knew I had a bad dream?" A "disturbance" he had said. I thought it sounded weird.
"...Yeah." So he came to check up on me to see if I was alright. "If I may ask, what did you dream of?" More concerns.
"I don't think you'd want to know..."
"Why?"
"It was about you." He goes silent. Shoot, I shouldn't have told him.
"What happened? What did I do?" Slender's voice turns serious.
"It's- It's not anything, I mean- It wasn't anything- just-" That was a lie, Slenderman killed me in my dream.
"Did I hurt you?" I cringe; Sharp as always.
"well no- kinda."
"How?" Dammit, why is he so demanding all of a sudden? And why is it so important? But even my thoughts didn't stop me from answering his every question.
"You- you kind of-... killed me." I peer over at him to see his response. His hand was tightly wound into a fist on his leg. "It was just a dream Slender, It's no big deal." But even so, his fist just tightened even more. Only if he had a face, maybe then I could understand the situation better. I place my hand over his, just like he had done once for me. Let's hope actions will speak louder than words. His hand immediately loosens up. Thank goodness. Scooting myself over I rest my head against his arm. "It's no big deal." I repeat softly.
He's mad at himself for something he didn't even have control over doing. "Your a lot nicer than you may think you are. No bad dream will change that."
"I guess..." I feel his shoulders loosen up. His voice was also no longer tensed. I must have reassured him. It felt weird having my hand over his. I've never comforted anyone before. I only spent my days hoping someone would come and comfort me; Even if it was just for a little while...
"I didn't get to say this earlier but, thank you. Your offer was really kind." And one I should have took right away. "It really surprised me... And I didn't know how to respond." I find myself still mumbling on how I felt.
"No, I shouldn't be forcing you to do anything in the first place." He admits. Slender has really been opening up to me, hasn't he? He's so mysterious; no matter how many questions about him are answered I still feel left out from his real feelings. Feelings? I take a deep breath. Just thinking about how far away I am from my parents right now is comforting. And sitting next to Slenderman like this, I feel almost... safe.
