"Momma, momma, I'm sorry," the little girl sobbed "I- I didn't mean to, momma I'm sorry"
The girls arm ached as she struggled in her mothers steel grip. she knew where she was going. she was being dragged down the stairs towards the basement where her mommas favourite punishment lay.
Upon seeing the door that led to he nightmare, the girl struggled more and more to get out of her momma's grip. Why is she doing this, the girl thought to herself, she had only been playing and it was an accident. She didn't want to go to the box, it was dark and cramped and lonely.
"I told you not ta play with the fire little girl and yet you still disobey me." Her momma's stern voice reprimanded the young girl, void of any emotion " shudda killed you after ya father left. He left cozza you ya know. Coz of how useless you are- can't do nothin right can ya."
At this the girl started to sob, her innocent frail mind couldn't comprehend why her momma would say such mean things, even if they were true.
She should have remembered to keep her fire in check, she knew the rules. But it just wanted to play too, it was her friend and she didn't like locking it up.
At this point they had reached the basement and he momma was unlocking the box.
Panic flooded through the little girls system, she hated the box, it was so so scary. Her momma new she hated the dark and the cramped space didn't make it any better either which is why momma thought it was the perfect punishment for her. Momma usually forgot she was in there so she would go for hours or even days trapped inside.
At this point she was a wreck, she couldn't breath due to the sobs chocking out of her skinny little body. Her arm had started to bruise but that didn't matter to her momma, who through her into the box without a second thought.
She shivered in the darkness of the metal box as her momma slammed the lid, leaving the sobbing mess of a the girl to wonder why her momma hated her so much l, what did she do wrong? Why did daddy leave her alone with momma? Why did nobody want her?
As her momma locked the box from the outside, the girl called out to her fire- her only friend and like always it answered by filling her tiny little body with warmth and love. Even if it was just fire the girl knew it loved her and it was the only thing she could rely on.
