It's the deal day >> Swearing in
On the parade ground: The parade commander matched towards the representative of the Governor and put us at attention, then the parade proper after the representative of the Governor had sit.The NYSC anthem commenced:
"Youths obey the Clarion's call
Let us lift our Nation High
Under the sun or in the Rain
With Dedication and Selflessness
Nigeria's ours, Nigeria we serve!"Olamide's POV
After the NYSC anthem, we say the Pledge in words which is called the National prayer and afterwards, saluted the Governor's representative since the Governor was not available. The Parade commander continued as he presents the number of the Corp Members and wants us to be sworn in, which has to be authorized by the Governor only or his reps.
All their scenario was boring and I felt like falling out of the parade but those army are strongly around us.
So, after all these stress and money wasted, one Governor won't swear me in... (I thought to myself, gesturing).
[Whipped]
(Lectures commenced at the pavilion by 08:00 pm after the swearing in ended by 03:40 pm)
Olamide: This everyday lectures self, are we still at school days?
Emmanuel: Funny, NYSC and their wahala! NYSC na scam.(Emmanuel who sat next to me was my platoon mate, a slim, fair guy from Osun state in the west but resides in Ondo state).
Moderator: Now, we will call on Mr. Charles Igninovia for the next lecture which would last for about 01 hour, 30 minutes.
Ahh!, (All corp members echoed as it's 09:30 pm and we'd need to rest after all the stress).
Chuks⁴: See that commandant looking so furious, another punishment coming!
Olamide: (Laughed), Anytime he comes, he always love to punish us... Especially platoon 4, it seems he does not like us. (I responded with my head facing downwards so I won't be seen talking).
(Chuks with the tag '⁴' was my platoon mate, a dark skinned, and agile guy from Benue state, different from the first Chuks).

(Bugle blew)
Army¹: Parade, parade, shorn!
(We remained at attention until the next command).Army¹: Left!!! Left, right...
Army²: Attention by number, attention by number, squad 1 ..... 2.
Olamide's POV
(We kept on doing the command, some are being lazy and some were trying their best, it has not been what I spent my years in university to do).Ah! em tired oh!, em having stomach ache.
(I turned my to my left to see who spoke!.. It's a lady, hum! Pretty but why would she be doing like this. At first, I despised her thinking she's pretending to be unique).
Army¹: At ease by number, squad 1..... 2.
(The parade continued until 08:00 am. By 02:00 pm, football match was about to began between platoon 4 and platoon 8).
Felix: Platoon 8 is playing against platoon 4.
Olamide: Yes, It's gonna be tough!, platoon 4 would best you guys.Felix: I won't be playing, I was only interested in coaching but since we have so many coach in my platoon, I give up.
Olamide: (Laughs) You don't want competition!... em playing, Left back.
Felix: The aren't organized at all, so if you would win, i have no doubt.@Olamide @emma @emmanuel @felix @chuks @lady @governor
[Sun Shines].
Olamide: Today's match was very tough, we ended up with penalties.
Felix: I knew platoon 8 isn't going further, congrats.Olamide: Tomorrow, platoon 1 versus platoon 3, let's see how it goes.
Felix: what of the female volleyball?
Olamide: We lost! Your ladies won.
Felix: (chuckles) let's go in.
Olamide: Sure!... Em... Felix, you go, i will join you.
(I saw the same lady on the parade ground earlier)Olamide: Hello, em Olamide and you.
Lady: Oyindamola.
Olamide: I saw you earlier on the parade ground.Lady: Yeah... Platoon 4.
Olamide: Love and unity. (That was our slogan at first. Our platoon officer gave us that slogan before our platoon commander (an army woman) gave us the trending title, "Champions' platoon" which reigned till the end of the camp).
