"Sometimes it all gets a little too much;
But you gotta realize that soon the fog will clear up."

Finals were creeping up on you, and your math final somehow ended up being tomorrow and as you sat on your study table, looking at diagrams and memorizing formulas, you suddenly felt a wave of emotions hit you, sending you into a fit of sobbing.

You had been studying for more than twelve hours everyday for the past two weeks, not spending a second of your waking time doing anything other than studying. No time spent relaxing, no time spent with family, even Shawn, who came back home from your only six nights ago, and no time spent with friends.

As you were sleep deprived, hungry and not thinking straight, you picked up your textbook and threw it across the room sometime during your emotional breakdown without even realizing it.

Of course, being that you were crying your lungs out, you were causing a ruckus and as Shawn heard you wailing like a damsel in distress, his brotherly instincts kicked in and he came racing to your room.

He barged into your room, not even bothering to knock. He startled you a little, but you did not care, seeing as you couldn't even breathe anymore. You were aware that you were overreacting just a tiny bit, but you were too overwhelmed to care.

"Aww, what's wrong, kitten?" he cooed as he sat down next to you on your bed, gently pulling you into his chest. You gripped his shirt into your fists, loving the warmth and comfort that radiated off of him.

"Math finals tomorrow....too hard...can't understand anything...hngh" you managed to choke out between sobs, hoping he would understand what you said.

"Aww baby, need some help?" He asked, eyes glowing with warmth as he held your hands in his.

"Yes, please" You whimpered out, face bright red from embarrassment, thinking about how needy and stupid you must have looked, but his eyes said otherwise, as he spotted the textbook across the room and went over to retrieve it.

He picked it up and walked over to you. Wiping your tears with his thumbs, he was about to speak when your parents, along with Aaliyah came bathing into the room.

"What was, what was all that commotion about? Is everything alright? I was trying to come check up on you lot but the stairs.. Aaliyah tripped, Man-uel didn't see.. tripped, my ribs hurt..big mess.. yeah. But what happened?" Asked your mom, Karen in between gasps for air as the other two stood behind her, looking bewildered.

Shawn was about to say something, but you beat him to it. "I was just stressing out about my finals tomorrow but Shawn's here now. Everything's fine." You said as you let out a little giggle, Shawn chuckling after you.

"Oh, okay then." The three breathed out a collective sigh of relief as the turned around and left the room, leaving the door just a tad bit open, which always got on your nerves.

Shawn continued, "Okay, as I was saying...."

-timeskip brought to you by ur mom-

It was the next day, 2:35 pm and you, along with the rest of your class have been dismissed from the examination hall. You had done relatively good, messing up in two or three questions, but you were positive that you would pass with flying colours, all thanks to Shawn.

Your bestfriend dropped you off at your house after going to McDonald's to celebrate how well the finals went as your last one was math. You walked in, eyes landing on your family all sitting together in the living room.

"How did the exam go?" Asked Shawn, looking at you with a glint of hope in his eyes, making everyone looked at you, anticipating your answer.

You decided to mess with them just for the heck of it, so you looked at him with the saddest face you could muster. On seeing this, all of their faces dropped, but changed to a look of confusion when you suddenly cracked a big, goofy smile.

"Just messin' with ya" You said with a smile. "It was great, other than two questions, but I'm gonna get ninety-five percent or more, all thanks to Shawn's boi." You said excitedly.

"That's my girl!" Your dad ruffled your hair. "Good job sissy. We all knew you had it in you!" That was Aaliyah. She was honestly the best sister ever and you were grateful. Your mom beamed at you "Good job sweetie, you're making us proud."

Shawn looked at you for a second, smiled and engulfed you into a hug. "Very."
