❀Rose'sPOV❀
"Well fuck, what a turn in events. I knew we planned on ditching school but to actually be given permission this is just rad! Plus you're staying with me for a month? This is awesome!"
Right now Ariel was babbling all in my ears as she drove to her home. The trip to her house always brought back all the good memories we had. It also reminded me of my father. Tall, dark and handsome was what the ladies called him. Too bad be was a cheater and lost a good woman like my mom.
For some reason, I no longer have a clear image of his face. All I see him as is the fault of all the bad in my life. He caused all of this, he started my mother's problem, he broke the marriage because he was the one who slept around. That little-
"Hey Rose, are you okay?" Ariel questions, placing her free hand on my tightly clenched fist. I didn't realize that my composure changed to anger. I hadn't noticed that I was fuming.
"Uh-yeah, I'm fine. Are we there yet?" I ask, a little more excited now as I reminded myself that I would be staying with Ariel, her baby sister and her mother this whole time and not with him.
Ariel lost her dad in a plane crash. It was harder for them because he was the pilot. He was never home offen and the same day he was returning to see his pregnant wife and daughter he died. Ariel was miserable but moved on quickly to give her mother strength. That's what I really admire about her, the way she thinks about others over herself.
"Matter of fact, we are," she says, her face beaming as we drove up her round-about driveway. There was a fountain in the middle and flowers along the edge of the driveway. Beyond the flowers on both sides of the yard were single walk ways leading to perfectly trimmed grass.
I remember that on the right of the house there was a maze garden where there was a long dangling chair which swayed in the wind. It was a very romantic spot for a new couple or just two persons with crushes. I loved the day Ariel brought me over there and she literally cried over her ex boyfriend.
On the left of the house was a pond where her ducks were. I didn't really fancy animals but all of hers were so peaceful. In front of the pond was a bench with two side tables on both its sides. It was so beautiful.
To the back of the house was the fun part. A pool, swings for Amy, Ariel's little sister, a few other games and what not.
"I am going to lock you in the car, lock you up and say boo-ya. Oh yes, I are!" Ariel's singing voice brought me back to reality as she dangled her keys in my face. "Oh my God, you're so evil!" I say dramatically, hurriedly hopping out of the car.
Laughing at my reaction, Ariel followed suit and automatically locks her vehicle. "I would always come back for you. Pfft, well that's if my mom wondered where you were," Her face was so serious that my eyes widen and I just froze.
"Y-You're kidding right?" I say, my voice giving way. Wow, that rhymed.
"Oh my, you're too easy to mess with," She laughs, making a 'let's go' movement with her hand. A breath of relief escaped my lips as I followed her into her three story mansion.
"I even forgot how amazing your home was," I comment, removing my old pair of converse. She steps out of her three inch heels and only shrugs at me.
"Bleh, I can't tell. Been living the same life for too long dude," She complains. "Mom! We're here, get your sexy ass out of your office," Ariel presses the button on the intercom and I couldn't help but shake my head. 'Wow, they still spoke that way it seems,' I thought to myself.
