Alyssa's legs bounced as Levi slowly got up from his seat, walking to the front of the room and standing almost looking lifeless.
"Our next piece of evidence in this case...are the photos taken from the crime scene. This is Picture two." The judge explained, handing a small piece of paper to an agent who then carried it to Levi. The man took it and looked down at it, giving a small snicker.
"The hell is he laughing for?!" Alyssa thought, legs bouncing faster and eyebrows knitted together.
"Sir-" Levi spoke with ease in the tone of his voice. "With all due respect...this is a false photo," he continued, his face a chuckling smirk. "As I know the way this was worked it. It's an image containing-" he paused to observe it once more, "No sort of crime and no evidence that this actually was my team. I mean, come on. I see only masked faces." The judge had a hard time trying to speak before a jury member from the stands cut him in his tracks.
"So, Mr. Ackerman. You mean to tell me that this portrait, which came directly from the crime scene, is false?" He asked and Levi nodded.
"Yes."
The man gave a small "hmph" and looked through his files, pulling out another small piece of paper. "Picture four, Judge." He requested and the judge slipped one to the agent, handing it to Levi. Levi took this one, giving a good stare at it. Alyssa took the same picture out of her file, her eyes opening wide. Levi only cursed under his breath.
"What was that, Mr. Ackerman?" A smug, grin-wearing jury member asked.
"Go stick it up your ass, Frazier.," Levi murmured, loud enough for others to hear. The judge slammed his hammer down and Frazier, the jury member, gave another "hmph" and crossed his arms. He then averted his gaze to Alyssa, who still had her leg bouncing, just more faster.
"Ah, Miss Janget, is there something concerning you about this case?" He asked, raising his head high. Alyssa sat there, frozen in place when her name was called. Levi turned his head just as Alyssa looked up and eye contact was made. She could see the worried look in his eyes as she bit her lip, stood up with a dramatic slam of her hands on the table and cleared her throat. She was destined to get her boyfriend out of here.
"Mr. Poin, I do believe that this image does show Mr. Ackerman's team, as well as the background of the crime scene," She began with determination. "I have inspected this photo multiple times to find that there is one, no time and/or date of when this was documented, and two, no confirmation that this has nothing to do with the damage his team has done." She spoke.
"But, Miss Janget, you're missing one thing. Are you sure that that blacklight sticking out of your pocket from your keychain works?" Frazier inspected, pointing down to the keys on the table. Alyssa looked down as well and nodded. "Alright, let's take a look at the photos again, shall we? Hint hint, I think the light I mentioned would come perfectly into frame right about now."
Alyssa took the small light from her keychain and shone it on the portrait, gasping. There were not only fingerprints and small written messages but when she turned it around, there was the exact time and date of when she remembered the flash of the camera going off. 'Fuck fuck fuck, how did they get this...unless..." Alyssa looked up at Frazier, taking a better look at him.
Frazier still had that smug look on his face as he noticed the female staring at him. He cocked his head to the side a bit before moving his fingers around to give the sign of the other gang. Alyssa's eyes widened again and her breath began to be hitched as she realized what was happening. She stood there, frozen in place and scared for what would be said next. She hadn't realized the judge had been calling her name as she shook out of her mind when the judge slammed his hammer down again.
"Miss Janget, do you have any other words to say?" The judge asked and Alyssa gulped and parted her lips to speak. Levi turned around to face her, keeping a worried look on his face.
"....no...your Honor..."
The judge pounded his hammer again and looked down at Levi. "You are hereby sentenced to jail, Mr. Ackerman. On the accounts of being a leader to an infamous group of people, terrorizing a city's bank and managing to get caught with it!" He said and neither Levi or Alyssa could believe it.
Two men came up to Levi and took his arms on their own, causing him to resist and squirm around heavily.
"Let go of me!" He yelled in horror as he was lifted up pretty quickly. The legs of his small frame kicked at the ground and he stared at Alyssa as he continued to move about. "Alyssa! Please, you've got to get me out!! Babe, you know I'm innocent, Frazier framed you--HE FRAMED US AND YOU FUCKING KNOW IT!!" Levi yelled. Alyssa's eyes watered and she looked around the courtroom at the many faces staring at her. She turned back to Levi, who was continuing to struggle and without another word, she ran out the main doors.
She ran as fast as she could downstairs, trying not to trip. She ran through the hallway, passing by Erwin and the others.
"Alyssa!!" Hange and Erwin called, causing Alyssa to stop and turn around. The two could see her tear-stained pinkish cheeks, the pain and sorrow in her eyes. Her legs trembled and her fingers twitched as she stood there, looking as though she was limping. Erwin ran towards her and looked her in the eyes, though she wasn't at him.
"What happened?" He asked. Alyssa's eyes went from staring in front of her to officially making eye contact.
"That man...he framed us...and Levi's put in jail now..."
