Chapter 1:
Beep!
Beep!
Beep!
“I don’t wanna get up” Kat pushed her violet hair out of her mouth and turned over, turning her alarm off.
“Kat!” her mother yelled.
“What?” she sat up, tired from her long night of homework.
“Neil is here. He said he needs to talk to you.” She yelled louder
“ ’Kay, tell him give me a sec.”
“Actually,” a voice said as the door opened, “It can’t wait.”
“What is it?”
“The-”
“Don’t tell me it went-”
“Yes, Rouge.”
“So, how long do we have?” she asked, afraid she knew the answer.
“You mean until we-” he asked, confused.
“Yes!” she quickly replied and cringed.
“Two hours, tops.” He sighed, because the outcome was unexpected.
“Great.” She sighed. “How could they not know? It was so simple!” she sobbed.
“I’m sorry, Kat, but this is it.”
“No,” she got up, determined, “This is just the beginning.” She ran off.
“Kat?” he ran off to find her.

“Kat! There you are!” Neil said, out of breath. “You know we can’t stop it.” He looked at what she was typing on her laptop, plugged into a power source in her neighbors’ yard. “Kat-astrophic? What is that? Some sort of bad pun?”
“No, CATASTOPHIC. I’m e-mailing the government.”
“They know.”
“Not yet. They know nothing.”
“The experiment bot has gone rouge, as you know, and I know how to stop it… Before it stops us.” He perplexed.
“At least I think so…” she smiled, pointing to blueprints on the screen.
“Okay, I know we hacked them, but that means were smarter, right?”
“Or that means we can stop it.”
“Kat, we can’t.” he sighed, “The bot is indestructible, we know that. Almost in-hackable.”
“Almost?”
“It would take two days.”
“And we have two hours.” She frowned.
