Celestial Jeon

Stormfront is beautiful all year round. It never gets dark that's why it's known as the firefly kingdom. Always day because of all the magic of our kingdom. Everyone in my kingdom is part light Fae which means they can control light of some sort. I can control lightning that sparks blue and can withdraw light suffocate it, turn everything dark, snuff it out. This kingdom wasn't left to me by choice but I have to protect it.

"Celestial, where are you? Celest." I here from below snapping me out of my train of thought. I stand up and climb down from my roof to the balcony of my room.

"Out here Samantha." I chirp as I enter the room.

"Sitting on the roof again Celest. Ever since your mother died you do that a lot."

"It's so I can see her garden Sam. Its they only part of her left." Except for him but I don't need to remember that right know.

"I know, but you made a decision to become queen and you need to start acting like one. Starting with this. Your cousins made it back safely and Megs has sent forwards a message for you." She hands over a note.

"Your dinner is awaiting when you are ready. "She flares then disappears with the lightbulbs blinking in her wake. I open the letter from my cousin.

Dear Celestial,

Freya has made threats towards the dragon kingdom and I'm afraid my queen ignorance is bad. I have been in Freya's head and know she has something planned but I cannot prove what or if she is going to do anything. Cousin I fear Alcamanya's sister's threats are somewhat true and I am planning. If war comes be prepared to fight with our nation as you owe us a favour for what we did.

Love your dear cousin Meagan Rosella.

I neatly fold the note back up and sit it on my bed side table. I know my cousin wouldn't call a favour without a reason, but mind slippers can't reach in the dead's head without getting a bad nose bleed. So, she must have done it with a lot of difficulty. I call the cook up as I don't feel like eating with the others and start to plan. If I am to be ready for an attack I need to call my armies back from borer control which will take a few days. While eating I start to write my messages and correspondents to make the army move to the borers in the north east. After dinner I call the post up to get the notes sent as soon as possible. Then finally decide to sleep. As it is always day we must work out ways to sleep in other ways like thick curtains or darkrooms with no windows. I ended up using my powers. I snuff out all the light in my room. Darkness, my darkness is all that surrounds me this darkness I got from my father. Don't think about him I kick myself for the thought. I lay down in my bed and sleep.

My dreams are fitful as I dream of the memory. He killed her. My father's power is like mine and up against my mother's lightning was better. Her snuffed out the light. Her light. Her life. He's locked far away now. In Riftcort prison on the other side of my country. But that doesn't stop the memory's from flowing in. I was there. I could have saved her, but I was afraid of my father I just sat there sobbing. My power ebbing around me to protect me and me alone.

"Bang!" I shoot up in my bed blue lightning sparking at my fingers. Sam appears in my door.

"Don't worry Celest. That was just the training arena. The west army arrived while you were asleep." She grins my way, but her eyes are full of worry. I realise then that I had been crying from the nightmare.

"Oh, that's ok Sam. How long was I out?" Swiping at my face to rid the tears as she answered.

"Around 8 hours of sleep. General Lorenzo the newest general of you armies has requested a meeting when you are awake and ready." She looks at me waiting for an answer.
